Hiya, just a general question, but was actually interested if anyone makes up their own rather than purchasing an already made up mix?
I personally mix up my own to feed my mare as Id rather know about whats going in her food, rather than buying it premade, which tends to be more expensive also.. as I also prefer to make my own feeds rather than buying mixes.
I currently give Brewers yeast.. Biotin... and a dollop of pig oil,
Ill soon be adding seaweed and linseed to this mix as ive been reading up on some benefits that this may have for my mare...( please note I have only just found out that brewers yeast has biotin already in it..whoops
..so shall be cutting the extra biotin out)
Ive tailored this mix for her as she is barefoot, I brought her with awful feet but this is slowly rectifying with my mix, she had a thin mane and tail, and her coat was a bit dull, I must say she now is looking pretty good to me
But what do you give your horses and why? also what sort of dosage you use would also be helpfull
A big slice of chocolate cake if youve read this far! hehe!
