Hiya, I am back again!!! A few of you will know I have been away for a while as I have had a few operations in hospital on my leg which I broke last year. In the mean time I have been doing a bit of dressage on my youngsters but by the end of september I will be able to jump decent tracks again and I cannot wait!!! Now the thing is I have got quite used to my isabell and jaguar dressage saddles which I feel very secure and "stuck" into!!! I feel my legs are wrapping round them and I almost have a seat belt on LOL!!!
I was just wondering if anybody knows or has had any experience of any really good supportive jumping saddles. I have competed at all the BSJA finals and have jumped upto 1.50m level before so I am not a complete retard but I just feel a little out in the open sat on top of a very close-contact jumping saddle after I have got accustomed to the homely feel of a deep-seated dressage saddle!!! I am quite small, only 5'1 and a bit and all my horse's are 16.1-17.2 warmbloods so it is hard to find a saddle for both extremes!!! I have ridden in lot's of jumping saddles before including pessoa's and amerigo's etc. but they have all been very close-contact with small knee-rolls and very forward cut. I understand that no saddle will help you stay on but I feel something with a deeper seat and knee-rolls may help, what do you think? It needs to be forward cut as I will be jumping at 1.20m+ on quite exhuberent youngsters that have missed their jumping!!!
So please help, if you have any ideas I will probably be ok once I get back into the swing of things but I am just feeling a little wobbly after 6 months of hardly any jumping!!!
