Im needing a new pair of clippers and have come across this company called Sure-clip. Does anyone own a pair or have any experiences with this company?

Thanks

Sorry, got to be said, but complete and utter Chinese garbage. Please avoid like the plague. You get what you pay for and you will get blades made from re cycled Chinese battleships, no spares,no service and no parts back up. The raft of firms selling Chinese **** is totally screwing up the clipper market, these people do not care about longevity, they operate the "three F's marketing policy" FLOG IT----FORGET IT----AND FLEE. Buy a known brand from a firm that advertises and does repairs, sharpening and servicing. They will not sell you a lemon. Any advice, please PM. Good luck.

This company states on website that they do repairs...spares etc... ?

My heart agrees with what TheEngineer says but unfortunately my head no longer does.

I definitely agree, these cheaper clippers are changing the face of the clipper market but I think the onus is now on the established brands to adjust. Your move wolseley, lister, heiniger etc. I'm not sure how they get away with it but most of these clippers are copies of heineger clippers. Why they are allowed to do it I don't know.

The old saying 'buy cheap, buy twice' may be somewhere near true but these copies are usually well below half price with double the warranty on them. I don't like it any more than TheEngineer does because these clippers are never worth repairing, it's only ever economical for us repair folk to repair the more expensive machines. That's the only gripe i have with them. We don't sell new (branded or copies) clippers so they are not undercutting our prices at all.

I'm afraid the 3 F's is not necessarily true. The only firms I know who sell this stuff all have excellent 'service/warranty' procedure - hey, the stuff is so cheap they can afford to have great service/warranty. I can back this up with a whole page full of links to forum posts if you so desire - (please don't make me do that) On the other hand, 'the 3 f's' is something that not many people have had experience of - I am open to being corrected on this point if someone cares to point me in the right direction (I will accept anything other than speculative conjuncture).

Finally, I will say, you get what you pay for. I think anyone that chooses to pay half price for something it is a little too hopeful to expect to get exactly the same performance and longevity. Expensive clipper brands are fast becoming a luxury - a luxury that will last and that will be guaranteed to perform but should you wish to cut corners price wise, you have to also cut your expectations.

Just to bring it back to the original topic - those sure clip clippers are all found on alibaba.com. I have seen many of these in for servicing (branded as x, y or z) and can confirm that they are reasonable quality. Quote 'reasonable' - they are what you can expect for £100 but they are not the same quality as their £330 heineger equivalent.

I have the sure clip clippers and love them. I had heinigers for a long time but the prices are getting ridiculous. I wouldn't say the quality is as good but they are very capable of clipping anything. I have a Cushing's pony whose coat stalls my Moser Avalon clippers but the sure clip go through with no problems. I have also just bought some Wolsey skylarks for trimming feathers etc they are very good too.

The skylark is a chinese clipper with a wolseley sticker/branding on. I know that because we have been approached by the company who makes them...

I do think Wolseley & Liveryman clippers are the only major brands who 'dabble' in a touch of the cheap and cheerful chinese stuff. They are a mix of Lister/Liscop (germany) gmbh bodies and (wherever the heads come from). That does mean you cannot guarantee you are getting a Wolseley/Liveryman clipper (made in germany, maybe built in the UK), you could be getting rebranded chinese clippers at the premium price of an established brand.

Just realized I'm getting off topic! - Sorry. Hopefully interesting enough and just about relevant enough to be left here anyway...

I personally don't mind who makes them as long as they do the job. But as you say you will not get the same quality for less than half the price. But that means you can buy three sets of sure clips to one heiniger. Did like my heinigers very much but can't afford them now.
