Suregrow for a 13yr old gelding

Long story short ... I have a brand new sack of D&H Sure Grow and no youngster to feed it to! Rather than waste it or try and sell it can i add it to my 13 yr old RID geldings feed which consists of a cup of Pure 'Balance' and a handful of chaff? I was thinking a lot of parts Pure to a small part Sure Grow (so in effect diluting the sure grow drastically just to use it up)

Im not one for feeds and generally stick to good grass and hay so to get me happy with a 'balancer' and a bag of chaff is ground breaking to be honest (I know, the shame of lacking in knowledge!)

I fed it to my old boy. He did well on it however he did need the higher protein lower Starch spec of that balancer.
