So just recently I noticed a surface crack in my horses hoof. It is the same hoof as last year when I got him that had a crack in it. Again it was surface and the vet wasn't bothered at the vetting about it and nor was i.
But now that it's back again in the same place going about halfway up his hoof I am a little concerned. It doesn't look as bad and he definitely isn't lame. He gets biotin every day and I put on conditioning stuff when they look a bit too dry.
Could it just be the fairly sudden change from soft ground to hard ground? Or should I be more concerned and try different feed? I sadly can't get the usual farrier out til next week as the lucky woman is away to compete at badminton.
Thanks for any suggestions.
