Surface to park trailer on . . . .

At my new yard all trailers are parked on grass, until now I've popped a rubber matt under each side but now winter is creeping up I need to start sorting my stable which involves the matts going in. Everyone else just seems to leave them be but the guy who services my trailer said I'd be better off sorting something out.

If you park on grass, what do you use to stop your trailer sinking & tyres etc perishing? All I can think of at the moment are planks of wood or paving slabs maybe? Or is there anything better? The parking is on a slope & ground is quite quishy so even the matts are dipping in the middle & water pooling around the tyres.

I wouldn't park on grass, the damp seeps up and rots the underneath. If there's no alternative at your yard, I'd want to move my trailer elsewhere.

I've literally got no other option & no storage facilities nearby either, so just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Put slabs down. The grass under your trailer will dry out and it won't be damp enough to worry about.

I use construction site, ground guard multi track mats. My husbands friend, who has a construction business, gave them to me. I know they are not cheap..but maybe have look around.

We have 4x4 bridging ladders/waffle boards for parking the motorhome on soft ground. They are rigid, very sturdy and heavy.

I put a small piece of rubber mat under the jockey wheel to stop that sinking into the ground to make hitching up easier/possible. We were lucky that the ground was well drained so not boggy at all.
