Surfaces for horse walkers

Installing a new horse walker at home and need some opions on toppings!! I was thinking the new rubber bricks, low maintance and less jarring on the horses legs or is it best to have arena surface?

I've had both, and ADORE my rubber bricks! They don't freeze in winter, don't make horses tummies and legs all sandy and dirty, don't need raking back into the centre once a week, and don't make such a mess of the yard!

Rubber makes it straight forward clearing the droppings up as well.

The only thing that is worrying me about rubber is it too hard for trot work??

I have the rubber bricks in my washbay and they are certainly bouncy enough for trot work
In my walker, however I have finely crushed tarmac topped up with a thin layer of sand.
