Would like to know of anyone that has laid down there own surface.

It's for a 40m x 60m going to be used by Show jumpers and Dressage horses so needs to be pretty good

Thinking of putting a good Silca Sand down ( Which quarrys??) and at a later date adding something like clof by Martin Collins??

Any ideas or advice would be great!!!

That's what we have it's brilliant, does need to be maintained with a harrow thing but not too much work. I would highly recommend it, great for jumping and flat work. It was quite deep when it first went down but it settled quickly.

Sand from Redhill in Surrey is the best to use. Fine glass making sand. I am adding Cloff to mine, you will need it for stability and a bit of bounce.

Great!!

Does anyone know of a quarry in the South West area. We're in Somerset so to get it delivered from Surrey will cost a bit as it's for a 40m x 60m.

Still needs to be the best sort of Silca sand though.

Aiming to have it done in less than 2 weeks.

we went to the Martin Collins event at Addington yesterday (which was very interesting) - they had samples of different sands - all were silica but some were very coarse. Apparently you need a fine sand with an angular grain - they had a couple of really nice ones there, and we are buying one of them - i'd call them for a price.
