Surgery and box rest

My horse is having surgery later this week, and an unknown amount of box rest afterwards.

Any recommendations for feeding on box rest? I'd like something palatable but not high starch or sugar or energy to feed his vitamin powders in?

Is there a low starch beetroot flavoured mash? Are pre / pro biotics a good idea post surgery?

Any other useful tips and suggestions?

Thanks

Poor Harry was pretty much in for four months due to the fits ?
Grass nuts kept his tummy happy without blowing him up and equerry do a starch /grain free treat like a giant nut in a20kg bag about £12 that you can put in a treat ball

Mine was on Agrobs when he had an op to remove a keratoma from his foot last November. He was having their musli and mash, with linseed and speedibeet (he is not a good doer!) my other horse has their leichtgenuss, which is good for good doers! He has a gut balancer and yeasacc daily anyway, but I did up the dose for a bit.
I also did a full detox from Equinatural (its called Optima Care, I get my minerals from them) a couple of months post op, I do think it really helped him.

My fussy arabs that can get too fat have spillers speedy mash it smells of apple when you add the water and only takes 5 minutes to soak they really love it., Restore by global herbs is very good for horses that have been under the weather or been under stress, I feed it periodically through the year its also good to feed after they have been on a lot of medication.
