My rottie has had an operation on his shoulder to remove some damaged bone/cartilage. He had a lot of debris on the front of the shoulder which was cleared and a large chip of bone removed from the back which I believe had damaged the tendon.
The operation was done by keyhole and he has had 2 ACP (I think that's what they are called, it's his own plasma) injections.
The op was done 3 and a half weeks ago and under the vet's guidance he is now being lead walked 3 times a day for a maximum of 7 minutes.
He is limping very slightly and this is my concern because the vet, who was a referral vet, said during his last visit that there is now a pain response in his elbow so it's possible he may have to have further surgery on this. The advice is to continue with the recovery plan for a further 4 weeks and then reassess.
If there is anyone who has had a similar experience, or any vets out there how long should I expect him to limp for before his shoulder is healed? I'm very worried that the limp is elbow related but although I know the recovery time for keyhole surgery is quick I don't know how quick. Should he still be limping from the shoulder surgery?
