Ok, so after a year of being turned away for Dr Green to work his magic my boy is hopefully heading for the all clear in May! Needless to say I am on the hunt for his 'perfect home' so we can get his rehab off to a flying start without me worrying about his daily care (which seems to have always been compromised at previous full livery yards I've been on!!).
He's currently living out 24/7 so I'm looking for a yard which will still offer AYTO (ideally 24/7 in summer) in fields which aren't bogs or full of mud fever. I will only be hacking for at least six months, so there must be good hacking access. Have an excellent surface in school, great facilities, a caring and knowledgable YO who has experience with rehabbing horses from injury, good size stables and fed ad-lib quality hay when in (this seems to be the biggest hurdle). Also, not too large/commercial or must have a high horse:groom ratio to ensure individual high standard of care - I would ideally love a small, private yard but they are so hard to find.
I really really want this to work and Im so upset with yards promising one thing and delivering another
I just want to enjoy my horse and not face having to keep him as a permanent field ornament just because yards won't/can't deliver. I'm starting the search now in the hope I can find something for late spring/early summer, but recognise so many of the good places are full.
Location: preferably NW Surrey (I will go as far east as Cobham) or East Berkshire - within 10 miles of J13 M25.
