Good or bad - pm if you prefer.

Mine can be a bit dog aggressive and they have been recommended to me to help address these issues. I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts if they've had any experiences with them.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes, we want 1-1 training - sorry, I should have been clearer.

I am a bit *gulp* at the £45 too but don't have an issue paying the money if the trainer is worth it. Wouldn't want to fork out that much for someone who is a bit pants though!

I don't bother with one to one training unless its for competition requirements where I need a bit more specific training. £45 is steep for dog training but I would expect higher if it were behavioural. Sorry but I'm a skinflint when it comes to that you can find perfectly good training classes especially gundog training classes which as outdoors benefit a lot of breeds so don't need to be just gundog breeds for under £10 for the afternoon or morning. You get free socialising, can see other people making mistakes and doing it correct so you have an example, and your dogs getting distraction training with a reward if they like hunting or retrieving.

Indoor classes are great but you need outdoor ones to compliment them and get control of your dog. Look on the breed club websites they usually have a list of recommended trainers or classes these days anyone can set themselves up as a trainer having done an exam with little or no dog experience. The GSPs do some pretty good classes

Thing is if it works for you and your dog then it works, if it doesn't it doesn't- does not matter if its a tenner or a grand..... when I finally get mine back :( I will be having a chap from Leicester come down if his behaviour does not improve and it will probably cost me the best part of £500, but he is the only trainer thus far that I have nodded to pretty much everything he says on his website/ the phone......... I am fully prepared to be told "this is all your fault- you are pants at dog handling" tho

Tried a normal class but it was subsequently told by a n other trainer that it was flooding him and too much........... actually wish I had continued with it.... that was £3 a time for over an hour in a huge field.
