Surrey equestrian

last order i placed for two pairs of riding boots was £3.99 BUT I NEVER GOT THEM
They eventually emailed to say out of stock and didn't know when they'd be in.... one item on order I'd understand, but two made me suspicious about their actual stock levels
 
Usually £3.99, but I think it depends on how much is weighs? I paid £3.99 delivery for a Landa exercise sheet, 500ml of Wondergel and 500ml Effax leather combi if that helps?
Used them quite a few times and never had a problem.
It comes through City Link, maybe check their website?

I ordered a bit from them almost a year ago and after a few weeks the of the order not arriving we got an answer from them saying shires had been mucking them around and not giving them their stock, we eventually cancelled the order. But that just makes me suspicious now! (sorry can't remember the p&p price)
 
Another unsatisifed customer....can't help you with the price but it obviously wasn't enough for them to package and post the item i'd paid for!! :mad:
 
It was about £4 when I ordered I think.

My hat took over a week to turn up - when I rang to ask about it they said that they ordered in from the supplier when I placed the order - sounds like they don't hold a lot of stock.
I did point out it wasn't obvious to the buyer but got the usual curt reply "its on our terms and conditions".....

On a side note, be careful if you buy anything from the sale as they wouldn't refund a friends purchase or even exchange it for a different size - very awkward.
 
Our postage costs are £3.99 up to 20kg and 20p per kilo after that for most of uk.
As for us not holding stock we keep over 500,000 pound worth of stock in most of the time but at the present time we are finding it hard to keep all items in due to manufacturers not holding much stock because of current climate we all agreed this is stupid as they come round and show all new lines to us and in mags to riders and when we all want it they have not got it.
We are going to stock control our website very soon which will help.
If you like at other stock controlled websites you will see the crazy amount of no stock, no stock.
We do make it clear that all clearance items are non returnable and they are all sold at cost price.
Over 80% of our orders go out now within 24-48 hours any items what are not in stock or not in stock at suppliers for overnight shipping we contact the customer to advise them of this.
We are in the process of changing our website so that the items we sell are the best price around as well as all the core items that you riders out there will want.

I placed a last-minute emergency order before pony club camp last year and if my memory serves me correctly, everything bar a pair of jods was in stock, they recommended a similar pair, which did the job equally well, and everything arrived in time! 1 happy customer!
 
I have used Surrey Equestrian several times and always go to them as they are the best prices anywhere. Out of all of my orders twice I was contacted as one item was out of stock and they offered me 3 alternatives I could wait, choose an alternative or have arefund. Each time they suggested an alternative which was suitable and I am one very happy customer and will always use them. I find their new customer service team very polite and they are always friendly. I have been reading the posts put on the forum and that is why I have joined and I believe that everything Mark the co owner has written on here seems to be being put in place from my experiences. I will never go anywhere else for my equestrian products unless they don't do what I require.
One very satisfied customer.
 
I'm still waiting for my order, apparently the carriers are to blame (so they say) I have waited in all week to receive the parcel. I'm told that it will be delivered on Monday morning, put it this way, I'm not exactly holding my breath.
 
Tracey spoke to city link yesterday and they admit it is totally their fault and they have guaranteed Tracey that it will be deliverd Monday morning. Tracey is going to ring them Monday morning to ensure your parcel is out for AM delivery and we will also refund your postage.

We are also going to ask for the City Link Manager to come and see us as this is not acceptable.

Lets just hope that Tracy's sharp stick has done it's job. I have had deliveries from City Link before, so it's not like they don't know where I live.

Whilst I appreciate that it's not exactly your fault that the carriers are so spectacularly bad at their job, it does make my shopping experience with your site less than pleasant.

Success at last :) I have to say that Surrey Equestrian, Tracey in particular, pulled out all the stops to get my order delivered. There was a minor hitch, which was quickly dealt with and rectified.

I am now a very satisfied customer and wouldn't hesitate to order from them again
 
Always been pleased with the service until i recently wanted a Gatehouse hat. Google shopping had it with Surrey for £50 something and when i clicked through to the website to buy-it was £10 more ??? several other interesting items came up with different prices too.

FWIW they have a much cheaper (than the point2)air jacket body protector that is very interesting..
 
Have to say, I read all the reviews (mainly bad!) from here, but thought I would see for myself! I ordered a hat, and 2 sets of boots for madam, and all arrived with in 48hrs. I was INCREDIBLY impressed as i have a difficult sized head and very rarely do tack shops have the size in stock :) Only small hitch was the fetlock boots I ordered weren't in stock, but they refunded the charge and left a note for me in the parcel.

I would have NO hesitation in using them again :) :)

We can not control google as to when they update there listings and pricing.
Also with hats and jods etc as we list them all in size order google lists the cheapest price and shows it so we will have item at price but not always that price as size gets bigger.
We send a google feed up each night with any price changes.

this must have only just started happening in the last three weeks because I certainly didn't get told about any delay to my order or offered an alternative.

On the plus side, when my order did turn up it was what I wanted and was £40 less than a couple of other well known equestrian retailers.
 
I ordered an item from Surrey Equestrian a while ago & after having no contact from them I phoned to be told it was out of stock & they couldn't get one from the suppliers either. I had to chase them to find this out. After the runaround I'd had I thought I wouldn't bother using them again.

However, following the various promises made my 'Mark' in posts on this forum about everything getting better, new staff etc I decided to try them again so I placed an order for a particular rug. After about 10 days & no contact from them I contacted them & again had the usual lines from them...out of stock....couldn't get any more from the supplier etc. In short I am fed up of them advertsing what they haven't got & cannot get & the fact that you still have to chase them to find out what is happening because they don't contact you. But the ultimate thing is that it is now a fortnight since they could not get the rug & I have just checked their website & they are still advertising it in all sizes!!!!! There is no excuse for this! They know it is out of stock & they cannot get anymore from the suppliers!....How can Mark give an excuse for this?

We are told that many changes have been made within the company by Mark but the same problems keep occurring to customers so the promises made haven't really come to much.

Two separate orders of mine have not been filled by the company, the second order after Mark claimed everything had been turned around & on both occasions the same excuse was used. I gave them a second chance but they only proved their website/stock control/& staff were as inept as they had been before. Sorry no more chances, I'll buy from elsewhere, I've had enough of you.
 
Looking at this thread I see that Sootypower has posted? I wonder who Sootypower is? They have posted only 4 times, on different threads, within a few minutes of each & always singing the praises of Surrey Equestrian, could they be employed there?...... take a look at their posts below.

Just to let you know that I am nothing to do with Surrey Equestrian. I have been reading the posts as I am a customer of theirs and felt that it was about time I said something as I am a satisfied customer and felt people should know that there are customers out there who are happy with their service.
 
I have never used Surrey Equestrian myself. I tend to go into my local shop rather than online.

But I just wanted to say that I think its very brave of Mark to come on here and post as himself and answer peoples complaints/problems. I dont think there are many saddlery owners that would. To me it shows that they are trying to resolve the problems that they have had before.
It would make me more inclined to use them in the future knowing that there is a way to feedback any issues.

I have used Surrey Equestrian before and have been pleased with the service.
The last order took a little longer to arrive but due to the fact it was alot cheaper than anywhere else I was more than happy.
As MrReally says, I also agree that at least they are aware they have problems and are trying their best to sort them out maybe.
There are alot worse mail order companies I have dealt with that have more expensive prices.

Aaaarrrghhh, ordered a load of stuff for my new horse. Two weeks later sent them a message to ask where it was, they stated that they were waiting for certain items from the manufactures, so I added another lunge line to the same order. They told me that they would post anything they had after 10 days and the rest would follow…

So half the stuff arrived. Then they found out that the rest of the stuff they weren’t going to get so they refunded me for them and asked me to pay more P&P to send out the extra lunge line.

So I kicked off threatened them with trading standards and it arrived.

They’re cheap but they’re always selling out of stock stuff which I’m pretty sure is illegal. Massive pain in the backside!

I have had issues with other companies having stuff out of stock etc but they have been nothing but polite and helpful, SE were downright rude in their responses.
 
Thats why i am doing all the changes so that this will not happen to customers
I do believe our customer service has got much better in last couple of weeks and i will make sure it keeps improving as well as stock levels.

Got my Gatehouse HS1 within 48 hours of buying online, and £60 cheaper than the retailer that is less than a mile from the yard. Thoroughly receommend!!!!
 
Well I ordered over £100 worth of stuff a few weeks ago, it took nearly 10 days to arrive-not good when you have a new fully clipped horse with nothing to put on it!! (had to borrow other peoples rugs!) So slow delivery, but well priced stuff. They need to sort out their stock levels though, getting as bad as derby house!
 
I felt compelled to join to post my experiances with Surrey Equestrian. I have never had a good experiance. The staff make you feel uncomfortable to ask for help. I once asked for frontline for my whilst in making other purchases. I said I would guess you will need my dogs weight and the girl looked at me as if I was stupid and said, well how will I know how much to sell you!!

It feels a bit cheep having a go on a forum but they have never listened or wanted to respond when aproached directly.
 
We have to ask the weight of the dog when we sell frontline or drontal because it could cause harm or not work if the wrong dosage was given.
If anyone wants to come into the store and meet our new friendly staff they will be happy to to be approached as will both Mark and myself.
Any ideas you have will be listened to and if possible taken on board.
