Surrey peeps - beach riding?

West Wittering near Chichester or Hayling Island near Portsmouth (HI is easier parking wise)

Both are open all day this time of year. Then April -Oct (I think) you can only go on the beach after 7pm.

Climping or Goring?

I'd love to go on a beach ride, if anyone would mind me tagging along with my ickle 13.2hh! Based on Ranmore Common and happy to split petrol costs :)

That'd be very cool. My next few weekends are a bit crazy (preparing for the mid-Surrey PC hunter trials) but the 6th March could work or the 19th / 20th March. How does that sound?

Depends which horse I bring.

If it's the new one then maybe best to give it a few weeks as he only arrived last weekend and I've not even hacked him in company yet!

I could bring the nightmare pony - will probably get bucked off if I do but he'd enjoy it!

Weekends are generally best for me and as I passed my lorry test on Saturday I no longer have to bother my mum to come with me!

Which beach were you thinking of?

Just looked in my diary and March is mental month - don't remember that happening!!

I probably can't do 19th or 20th. I could do Sunday 13th?? or Sat 2nd April?

Sorry - being a pain!!

Im based in Crawley and Iv been to both Goring and Climping, with much better riding at Climping. My taxi drivers horse is bare foot and really struggled with the rocks even when the tide was out. Climping was great (once we got down the pebble bank!) we did the compulsary gallop along the sand and splashed about I'n the tide and enjoyed it far more. I'm not sure if we parked I'n the right place, but it was by a green right I'n front of the beach and it was FULL of kite flyers and surfers which was fun to ride past!
