Suspected drunk driver hits three horses and riders

Simply dreadful, I am sure we must all think what if that were my horse?

Shame he has been bailed, Christmas inside would have been more appropriate.
 
Get a slap on the wrist like all the other morons who do this kind of thing. I know where i would like to shove his next drink.
Nightmare for those poor horses and riders.
 
i drive round that area everyday, so sad :( we are such a horsey area and that area in particular has many bridleways. I heard today that they were from a well known persons stables, heartache for owners and clients :( When will drivers learn? r.i.p horses xx
 
Driver who hit us, killed both horses, basically disabled me for life, didnt even get a fine! 9 month sentence suspended and community service! Hmm.....not sure what happened to the word jusice in our system!
 
I am just horrifield that the law lets us all down yet again - I wish somebody could explain and justify the decisions made as I am beginning to think that the life of an animal is actually 'worthless' in the opinion of many.

Hopefully Benson21 you have brought another case against those who were responsible, although no doubt the criminals will get away with it via a neat little loophole.

I keep wondering, if I had a little G & T la la moment and drove into the gates of the Police Station and squished a Police Skoda or two (because I just didn't notice them), would I just be fined?

Probably yes, sadly its not us police that let people off so lightly, its the courts. Its very gutting (to say the least) when we see the devastation caused by the type of person who did this, then put in lots of work, only for the court to give them a slap on the wrist.

I certainly hope this driver gets the book thrown at him. Poor horses and riders.

Thats so terrible and so very unjust I have had many incedents on the roads years and year ago, drunk drivers should be banned for years.
 
This was devastating didnt realise until told last night that we know those involved so so sad!! Something should be done how can he get away with it its not fair at all :(
