Anyone got a horse who has done a suspensory ligament and goes very lame on it occasionally?
I have one here who for the last month or so has gone on three legs twice. Assuming it was an abcess farrier was called and horse was sound by the time he got there, 24 hours later. It's suspicious to me as it's always on his 'bad' leg and obviously this is not a tenable situation.

How long ago was the suspensory injury and what stage of rehab is the horse at? I'm not an expert but its not a classic sign of a suspensory strain - I would have thought that a recurrence of the injury would give the same symptoms????

injury is a yr old and not expected to make a working recovery, or very guarded prognosis of it. horse is just turned out.
still unsure why he's doing it but he is now in box rest with a kick injury to the hock, also on the bad leg so maybe he's really unlucky and just always gets kicked on that leg.
Heaven knows.
Can you tell I'm vexed with him today!!
