I need all your advice on Suspensory damage..

Went to see a horse the other day - ex-racehorse still in a racing yard. He was absolutely adorable and would have taken him home there and then but am really worried about his front legs.

The guy told me he "twinged" his suspensory in his last race 2 months ago. Been on full box rest since then but been on the walker once a day.

Anyway, the leg in question was a tiny bit puffy just above the fetlock and was warmer than his other leg. BUT the main thing that worried me was he was wobbling both front legs. However I asked the guy to walk him up and down the yard - no noticeable lameness or pain, just wobbly when standing still. Apparently vet has seen him and said needing rest - but who knows! (He is a fairly reputable trainer)

I think he might just need some time off out in a field to recover but have never dealt with suspensory damage before so don't really know a thing apart from doing a google search!!

Any advice?

Hmm, I would avoid TBH. You can pick up ex-racers for next to nothing anyway so why get one with problems before you start?

I'm sure he'll come right eventually, but if it's still puffy and warm after two months it sounds like more than a "twinge". You'd be talking at least 6 months before you can do anything with him I would have thought.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Like other posters have said there are hundreds of ex racehorses, you have the pick of the choice at the moment. There is somewhere by us where you can loan an ex racehorse for £5.00 per week donation and then if you want to buy it, it will only cost you £750 - here is the link : http://www.racehorsesgreatwood.org/...55&PHPSESSID=77ba1d3591cb0f3356c4ec92932f8c4a

Also some more which are under the same operation-
