Just come back from riding there and boy, have they made it horse unfriendly.
I used to ride there quite alot and it was lovely, it is still lovely but there are no signs to tell which way to go, they have put up terrible gates which are narrow ,boggy and by cattle grids, they have a small difficult gate to go through to cross a bridge over the railway then another one the other side ,god knows what happens if a train comes through while you try to do the gate.We never went that way as we were also told there are ponies running loose in there.
I think we went where you are not supposed to go and I wish I had seen a ranger as I would like to know their policy for horse riders.
We have had the right to ride in that park for many years [100's] and no one wants us on the roads and I don't want to be there.
I am going to write to b'ham council to ask their policy on riding in the park and try to get it better.
Anyone else had problem there I will get BHS involved ,if I can.
