I'm from Barnes (originally) and I'm sure I never saw any of these growing up. Shame as I was pony obsessed even then!

I think one of the main tasks would be to thunder after people like me who had exceeded a hand canter (pony took fright at the deer and cleared off at speed ). Sounds like a fab job go for it (tempted to myself but with my previous record of exceeding a hand canter... )

I've seen them around and about on the Common quite a lot. Makes me laugh as they ride on the footpaths where other horses aren't allowed...!
