Sway backed?

Does it affect them in their riden work? Can they jump etc? Stupid questions but friend has one fore sale and was just wondering! Thanks

How bad is the sway/dipped back?

Why has it dipped? Born that way, collapsed or old age?

There's a pony who's been doing the rounds in local PC branches who has a massive sway back. She's been known as a super pony for a very long time- must be coming on to 14 odd years now. She pony raced and did very well, she's done many PC camps and PC teams (she's 13hh and getting on a bit, and jumps 3' courses still!) and is generally a superstar.

So it would depend entirely on the horse- this one is very well and it doesn't affect her work.

I think she was just born with it. Ahh thats great to hear a horse is fine with it! All i can find is 'cant be riden' etc all over the internet haha. Apparently shes totally fine with it, hopefully going to view her soon!

My old horse had a sway back and could do everything. The downside is its not easy to get a saddle to fit properly.

We had a pony at the riding school I grew up I'n that had the most awful sway back, you could sit a bucket I'n there, but he did everything.

I had a very dipped back horse for 10 years. He had done dressage to a high level, but not jumped. It was extremely hard to fit a saddle, and I did have his back checked every 6 months.
