Am currently writing a spooky recipe for the kids tomorrow for their writing lesson - so can I have your best Primary school appropriate spooky halloween ingredients - ta muchly

Bat tongue, spider's legs, and fly spit!!!

then cat piddle, slobber, and of course no recipe would be complete without....rat blood!!!!

slippery elm has very similar properties to aloe vera and just helps regulate bacteria in the intestine. I know it gets mixed with aloe as aloe helps to heal and elm helps to protect and soothe. I'm not sure where sells it mind as I have never bought it, but it comes in a powder form.

Spiders eyebrows, bats wings, chickens lips, hedgehogs toenails, slugs slime and newts eyeballs.

S_V - you have to roll the mixture into perfect horse poo shaped balls!!!

Snakes brains, rats tails, ghosts stomachs and black cat spit!! Also it needs to be stirred with the twigs from a witches broom and use a giants boot to mix it up in!!

Everything is measured using a Witches hat or a fingernail full and it needs to have warts liberally sprinkled on it for decoration when finished!!

Black snail's tummy button.
It's long standing joke in our family. When we were kids we were away with family over halloween and we played a game where we were blindfolded and had to guess what we were given to eat (jelly sweets, fruit and chocolate mainly!) We were told that it was going to be horrible stuff and my sister believed them and wrote down all sorts of weird things. Black snail's tummy button was the one that stuck though.

It's a great game to play with kids - especially fussy ones as it can make them realise that some foods they won't try are actually quite nice!
