My TBx has started sweating a lot. She works herself into a tantrum but because I keep her going forwards she doesn't actually have one. As a result she is dripping with sweat. I know it's warm at the moment but sweat was actually dripping off her belly today

Should I wait and see if it is teh weather or should I feed her electrolyes?

Ideally she wouldn't work herself into a strop but that isn't going to happen anytime soon...

My TB sweats a bit when she works...clear sweat...tbh it isn't a problem as long as you give them enough water and electrolytes to replace the sweat lost.
My TB was actually just beginning to sweat under her fly rug today - the 3yo was a little sweaty on her neck too...she has to wear a full fly rug due to excess lumpiness.

Might add electrolytes and see what happens... A calmer won't do anything - she's just a cow

She was sweating so much today I ran my whip handle down her neck and the sweat poured off her

She recovered really quick after a bath tho

S - I have visions of a really lumpy TB with lumps a bit like scales....

She's only 3/4 TB...the other bit is supposedly Bavarian...but I think more Chav

Ideally, I'd leave her nude...but she's better a bit hot, than badly bitten, I washed her neck and shoulder off in the field, and she went into a little dream

Then sprayed her with an aerosol fly spray - still smiled. Sooooo laid back.

Mine is 3/4 TB too - not sure what the other 1/4 is though. Sometimes I think it's shetland, others I think it's lovely chilled cob
smile.gif
I wrap both mine up in fly rugs - the flies seem to be worse this year

Buy a Shire cross - they seem to have rhino hides.

Erm... no. She's 15.1 and a bit which is the perfect height for me. Part shire and I'd need a crane to get on
