Sweaty horse - fit or unfit??

Just wondering - Star seems to sweat soo easily, even a hack round the block and she sweats, so would you say she is unfit or do some horses just get natuarally hot??? She is an ISH and is ridden 5/6 times a week with schooling most days, hacking and competing at the weekend and a lesson most weeks so cant see how she could be unfit??

Just annoys me when at shows and she gets soo hot and then looks messy, and everyone else looks perfect - vain me lol

Any tips etc? x

Bo sweats up very easily too.....i think i might clip him out again soon to keep him cool

He's ridden 5 or 6 times a week too

I think some horses are just sweatier than others. PF isn't a big sweater, but Antifaz is.

Think it just depends on the horse really - some seem more prone to sweat than others.

Also on their temprament - I ride one who can get herself in a white foam just walking around the block because she gets herself all wound up.

Fitness is about recovery and ability to perform without injury and stress..The ability to sweat is good and some sweat easier than others

Oh so in a way sweating is ok - just doesnt look nice lol...would it be worth clipping her again??

Be careful if she goes out in the sun as they can burn their back

Mine sweats lots, so am going to clip her out again this summer.

Previous ned I had used to sweat the minute I was on her. When I first got her I thought she was about to explode she got so hot. She was IDxTB, so maybe it's an Irish thing!?

Definitely not a fittness thing. My cob is very fit and she still sweats up even in walk! I'm clipping her out this week, legs and all.

My instructor always says my horse needs fittening up, however she is just one of those that breaks out in a sweat within 2 mins. Yet she is worked hrd except 2 days a week
