Raw is fine. Used to give my Welshy them in winter, he loved them. Some people hang them up but I used to just chuck it on the floor and he would chase it round all night!
If you bore a hole through the middle and put baler twine through you can hang it up - takes them a bit longer to gnaw it and keeps them entertained! The hay net's a good idea too!
Just bung it on the floor, raw! My boy loves them! He loves a cabbage the same way! Never tried shoving pieces of apple and carrot in the haynet (someone on the forum suggested this) but it sounds a good idea.

That's a good idea - Would keep her amused when she's in.
Used OHs drill (wasnt amused) and fed some rope down the middle then hung it from the hay rack. Heres Mae showing how much she enjoys her treat! Took her ages to munch it as it kept moving, but kept her occupied!! Sorry pics were taken about a week after i got her.
Raw. Never even thought about feeding them cooked! We buy a huge load of them from our local farmer when the fields are done, ours then get 1 turnip a day which they love.

It took me longer to bore the hole than it took pony to eat it - he goes mad for them
Loose on the floor. My horses in the UK used to love them.
So.........I grew dozens of them this year seeing as I have the space, will these fussy Canadian horses touch them? Not on your nelly!
Whole, on the floor, they are aliens that eat you from the hoof upwards,
sliced, in feeds they simply get pushed out of the bowl and left,
in hand..........forget it, none of my horses take anything from the hand anyway.
So, I shall throw them out daily for the deer instead.
I gave 2 of mine whole swedes (drilled a whole through the middle and hung them up) and they hardly touched them so eventually when they went grubby i took them down...
