Got a lazy day ahead of me as daughter is doing the ponies today! She, I believe, is going to school her pony who now has front shoes on and has gone from slow coach to speed demon

Lukey will be having a day off today as I don't trust him to behave if daughter does something with him while she's on her own lol. Have a good one guys xxx

p020.gif

Anyway, doing more now, was going to ride first but'll do that later - think I might just get drunk now!
crazy.gif

Clearly 'cos it will be paying £££££'s!!!!
grin.gif

I would go for the skirt/suit look - and yes that includes tights!! I always reckon if you go looking like you mean business it gives the right impression - grey or navy blue is better then black - if it turns out after you have the job you can wear jeans great - but you need to get the job first!! I recruit and always judge people on their first impression they make as they come through the door - clean shoes, ironed clothes, tights, smart outfit, tidy hair (tie it back if its long) - all count especially if there are several people being interviewed. You want to look as if yoiu are taking them and their business seriously and that it matters to you it makes you memorable.

Don't forget to do some research on the company - website etc it all gets you brownie points!!

Good luck!!

well i went for a hack, was quite nice, lovely weather.
will have to book her in with farrier asap as her feet have actually grown so much already.

Have had my contraceptive implant dug out of my arm this morning. Have decided to tel OH that it was far too painful to do any decorating and had to spend th rest of the day recovering on HHO
grin.gif

ooo sounds painful.

well hho crashed earlier so i decided to go pick up horse poo, what fun.

anyway am back now ad waiting for farrier to come out this afternoon, altho archie didnt look too bad walking around field.

Afternoon!!
a010.gif

I'm back - need a couple of big mugs
c050.gif
to get myself going to finish up admin and then go through a telecon
k025.gif
- then its over for 2 whole days!!

dwi - milk it for all its worth
ldlp - how is archie - has the farrier been yet?
lippy - good luck with the stressage - be acurrate!!
SM - you will be fine! Good luck!!

a090.gif

hmm dunno
always seems to be lame when poeple come to look at him, anyway farrier should have better eye for these things than me.
will let you know what he says.

right farrier has been.
felt legs couldnt find any heat. trotted him up on flat concrete and he said hes sound. took him out into field and lunged him.

farrier concluded hes not great on unlevel ground, seems to get better once warmed up abit so his conclusion was

a/ he needs to do more work
b/ hes just stiff due to age.

Thats good
smile.gif
- at least its nothing more serious. Probably just needs a good joint supplement and regular excercise - at 15 he still has a long time left in him
cool.gif
- the oldies here have all benefitted from gentle work up to the point they really are too old/stiff due to arthritis/spavin etc to do anything except be lawnmowers!! I think he is clearly to young and sound to be retired yet!! Harvey here was retired from PC,hunting, X country etc at 15 but was the competing up to advance level stressage until his 20's and then was still ridden most days until he was 33ish - now he is just a lawnmower
g010.gif
- but takes his job very seriously......
d060.gif

any good supplements then that dont cost the earth?

its just finding time to exercise him more.

perhaps ill just wrap him up and post him to samster
d060.gif

Afternoon everyone!!! Back at last!!

SM - good luck for the interview

dwi - I think a whole weekend off for that!!!

Slinky - I think you need a break too!! Working far too hard!!

Idlp - good news about Archie, now joint supplements are expensive if they've got the word "horse" or "equine" on them, so... how about a bottle of good old vegetable oil, added to a bit of feed!!
grin.gif
grin.gif
See how he goes, warm him up well before you do any work with him, and if it doesn't work, then onto something stronger!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

oh ok will try that first.
thanks for the advice, what do you think i should say to people who came and looked at him yesterday?

I would just explain that you have had him checked, and that is is just a little bit of arthritis, which is not unusual at this age.

Explain you are putting him on a supplement, and that with a good slow warm up, he is fine. Don't forget the good slow cool down as well!!

Say they are welcome to come and try him again, but will have to maybe leave a little more time to view him.

It's really up to them, some people won't take on anything with any issues at all, others will, if the horse ticks all the other boxes.

I would also ask them what they expect to do with him, as it could prevent some competition.

well they were umming and arring anyway due to age so could put them off but i dont mind that.

i always get tongue tied when i talk on the phone.

how much oil should he have?
