So far I have spent a mahoosive amount of money £££££ on 2 things - oil for the heating (yes i know it means i 'll be toasty warm!

. The hoover was on offer and I was desperate for one but I just hate spending money on stuff I don't like - and we all know I don't like housework of any kind - specifically ironing and hoovering - so I am really grumpy that I have had to buy a new one - I could have spent it on the neds or me!!

Slinky, my phone got soaked not long ago and since then it hasn't been the same. It wouldn't turn on for about 24 hours, and now it only works for a few mins at a time, it turns all white and doesn't work for about ten mins while it 're-boots' itself.

Sorry, yours might be different, just my experience.

I'm not riding tonight yet again as I am totally knackered. I admit I have neglected poor Belle a bit this week but after I get into a routine of when to get up the yard in the morning and get myself some decent sleep I've promised her some more exercise. Though I'm definitely still hacking out at weekends

Theres one mare in with our field of 3 geldings and it's all been okay, but the other day the mare (the one I've been riding!) came in with a large hoofprint kick on her back leg - and Darcy also had a small scuff on his hock too . So its all been assumed that it was him which fair enough - likelihood it was.

Anywho, today she's come in with a very hard lump about the size of my thumb on her foreleg - assuming its a kick?? Would that be hard?

My horse has never kicked!! And they graze side by side all day - she screams like blue murder when he's gone etc etc.

Can only think that she's getting bored as she's rarely ridden and winding him up - IF it is him ?? I dont want to be booted out of the field as this means i go in with IT and her 18hh rug-rippping / field churning beast!!
 
Well someone said weeks ago she saw them both having a kicking match - but when she said this she was driving around a blind bend which the tip of our field backs onto very briefly, and at the time they were by the gate. Noo way should she have been able to see !

Just thought I'd pop on and tell you how i got on today with the lame one, that's if anyones interested

The X-rays showed he's got a small amount of bone growth on his coffin bone so he's had a steriod injection in the coffin joint and hopefully that will fix him for around 6 / 12 months, fingers crossed. Quite a bit of fluid came out when he put the injection in so it's obviously where the problem lies.

He's off for ANOTHER week now and if he's sound some light work for a couple of weeks and then yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha away we go.

I got myself completely wound up about this and i thought it was going to be something that would result in him being a field ornament but thankfully things aren't as bad as i thought.

The vet is soooooooooo good and caring, having said that he did say he "would expect to see change like that in a horse of his age and type", cheeky bugger, he's 14 of the chunky monkey variety

Any way that's the outcome, hopefully he's fixed.

Oh no not yet - got to pick it up at 9 o'clock after everyone has/ hasn't picked up their own times to know if anyones dropped out.

Just hope it doesnt run along the same lines it did last time!!
