Oh what's wrong Slinky? Have a large glass and put your feet up

Mrs M - I know, it's just sh*t, and bad days make you think - why? I do sympathise and it's the most horrible feeling. Your friend must be absolutely gutted. It doesn't matter how long or short a time we have them, they get right under your skin, and it's tough.

Well it will turn in to a bit of a rant - so I'll apologise now!!

To keep it short I have a friend (of 20 years!) who is v competitive but normally it doesn't bother me as she always has more than me - earns more, buys the horse she wants, 2 lessons a week etc etc - but ever since I got Nixon she has wanted him - the undercurrent has always been why have you got such a nice horse/not a good enough rider etc etc and a day after I got him she came round and took picutres. Well I have ignored the comments (little digs about me struggling to manage 2, wb are different from cobs etc etc). We have the same instructor (I told them about her - her OH rides as well) who mentioned what a git N was on Friday - so today got a call which started with the usual enquiries etc and then went 'Now don't take this the wrong way but if you want help with Nixon all you have to do is call and we'll come over and sort him out for you.....' Am absolutely bloody fuming at the f**king cheek of it!! I know she is dying to get on and ride him to prove she is the 'better rider' which I have no doubt will be followed by a 'I'll have him as I can do so much more....'. You would think one of your friends would just be pleased you have a nice horse - not spend their time scheming how they can get their hands on him to keep you in your 'place' - because god forbid I go to the same dressage competition and beat either of them......

Sorry told you it would be a rant....

Unfortunately the green eyed monster always lurks at the back of some people's minds!!

I would laugh at her, and say, "Well, I don't think Nixon would really suit your type of riding".

The thing that is probably annoying her most is that you can rise above it. Don't let her get you down though, it's your horse, you do it your way, and it's her problem if she doesn't like it/get it/get what she wants!!

Some people do make you mad though, boy, do I know that!!!

Hey Slinks, define 'friend'! Miserable mare, why the heck can't she just be happy for you
frown.gif
. I hope you are suitably smug and enjoy talking about 'my' horse this and 'my' horse that
grin.gif

A horse has no ambitions. Usually, if a rider is happy then the horse is happy (unless he's called LL in which case he's just special). Hugses. We are very pleased for you. Send her this way, she can ride the Dizzy one and I'll be pleased to video it

.

I've got the "perfect" horse for your friend!!!....don't think she'd ever ride again if she was put on that!!!

Thankies!!!

What pisses me off the most is she has absolutely everything - wanted an new horse so went out with a list of what she wanted and it was delivered within a week - she doesn't really like it (never cuddles them) but it ticked all the boxes, wanted a lorry so gets one etc etc I got Nixon when I was having lesson at local yard last year when Inca was on box rest - the YO wanted me to have him as it mattered that he went to a good home - my 'friends' who have 3 horses never once offered me so much as a sit on any of theirs and now she wants my bloody horse!!!
d015.gif

Oooops - sorry I'll have some more wine......

BB's news had me in tears (tired of crying today). I tried to talk to her, but the words wouldn't come - hopefully she knows what I meant.

Am thinking that if I did drink I'd live in the bottom of a bottle, for the evening at least
k015.gif

Giddy aunt Slinks, if that's her idea of being a friend, then she should consider herself beyond riches to have you! I know what I meant, I just hope it came out the right way
blush.gif

Yup f_s, she's welcome to ride the Dizz-wizz-one (no bobber else wants to lol).

g045.gif

Mrs M don't take that the wrong way!! I meant that if Slinky's friend thinks she's so good, we could provide her with a couple of broncos to test her metal!!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

I think that Nixon would give her a run for her money too btw!!!

Friends should be happy for you not jealous!!

POSSSSST!!!!!!!!

Hey
grin.gif

Just have been having a panic attack as got a text saying "I am down the field, with your horse," and as you can imagine - flipped out! Turns out it was my friend who had left the hose on when she went poo picking at 7, and the bucket still isn't full
grin.gif

What a lovely coblet!!! How do you manage to keep her mane and tail looking like that?!! It's wonderful! and you two look good!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

Thankies!!!
a050.gif
She is just the best girl - and actually stays really clean as she doesn't roll that much - unlike the swamp monster Nixon.....Grrrrr!!
a055.gif

Was thinking I might do some showing classes on her next year - I think she'd enjoy it as she loves the attention!!
d045.gif

Not bad for a rescue is she?!!
d060.gif

This sooo off topic, (Sorry!) but figured i'd ask on here
smile.gif

I've got a rescue kitten who was nearly hit by a car/ brother killed etc and so anywho, she's always been an indoor cat. However, at night time youll let her outside and she's gone! I keep trying to keep an eye on her etc but then she'll buggar off up the back of the horse field and being black she's impossible to find. Should i just one night lock her out there all night and leave her to explore?! Its so daunting!

Uum about a year and a half i suppose, she's not technically a kitten but she's as small as one hehe. And ooh, i hadn't even thought of leaving a window open! Ha, oh dear..
thanks
grin.gif

I'd say leave her out, it;s warm enough and if she's anything like mine she'll be miaowing in the garden the second ur wake-up alarm goes off!!!

She obviously likes to be out there at night because she just buggars off and you have to physically go and get her/ chase her in as she'll try and out-smart you etc. However put her out in the day and she'll throw a hissy fit the second her feet touch the floor and want to come back in whether it means biting her way through the door , granted - shes trying
smirk.gif

HI D_L I think she'll find her way back, they usually return to where their food is!
grin.gif

Right I'm going to head off to bed,as early wake up tomorrow!!
grin.gif

Night all! See you all tomorrow!!
