In brief as shd b playing with s/sheet
Rode Dizz. Good in walk, bit fresh but nothing drastic. Asked for trot - she nearly bogged off with me! Head up, legs a over the place
Took ages n much of my nerves to ask again. Was ok on fourth go so longas I lent forward, kept reins short n talked a lot.First time I've really felt scared on her
To add to fun, a ned walked through the electric ence (no charge!). Got her legs tangled up! I had to get off Dizz to go and untangle her. Couldn't tie Dizz up due to where we were, so left her stood there (I thought it the less of the two issues). Dizz got caught in her reins and pulled a boot off, breaking a strap, but calmed when I got her. We aping nedeas walking through the fence as I tried to fasten it up again. Got all sorted. Took Dizz to untack. Turned her out and little pony started bl00dy fence hopping again. Legs, tape and neds everywhere! Got it all sorted again. So was late to client's site
and lost ten mins riding time. I wasn't chugged to start with as my scissors had gone walkabout. Text YM but not heard back yet re fencing

Oh my word, sounds like a busy morning Mrs M!
Once a horse at my yard got completley stuck in the fencing and had wire going inbetween his shoe and his sole and very nearly ripped his foot off
Luckily, I had some wire cutters, carrots and helpers to hand and he got away with only a cut heel. They've still not repaired the fencing
Good news about Dizz though - at least she's feeling good

The thing is, in the walk she felt fine, but in the trot tense and u happy. I tried long reins, short reins, leg on and leg off
Everytime I asked for a bit of bend in the corners she just went faster and motorbiked them, and her head was everywhere. A very energetc ride! I wondered if it was cos she's had better riders and better surface, but she calmed in the end so I'm not sure. Ho hum. Neds. Will see what tomorrow brings.

got a mctimmony(sp?) lady coming out to do archie on thurs, unfortunately couldnt come earlier.
oh poo nearly forgot farrier is coming in half hour to do hector.

It must be today!!! Everyone's horses are having a bit of a do!!! Just in, daughter and son rode today. Daughter's horse lacking concentration today, and being a twerp!!
Son's horse was full of boost juice!!!
At 18 she should really know better but was full of herself!!
Mrs M - you have been busy!! Glad Dizzy is feeling ok though.
Electric tape is the bane of my life, as my mare really likes it to look like spaghetti and take the others for a little adventure!!!
Idlp - It can only get better!!

im such a crap horse owner, i dont have a clue, gonna sound like a spoilt brat now and say mum used to take care of horses quite abit.
i went against ur advice yesterday and put them both out, well was before you advice as didnt have alot of time, yes they had a hoo hah and have stopped archies bute, gave him a quick flick on lunge yesterday still seemed pottery on back best way to describe and gave him another quick flick today and was definitely nodding head altho not alot, seems the box rest has made him worse.
how long does bute take to wear off?

I don't think you're a crap horse owner, but I do think you've got a lot of things on your plate at the moment!!
So, Archie is lame ( for all intents and purposes) and you feel that being on box rest has made him worse. I suppose if he's arthritic, then he would stiffen up as he's not moving so much, but then again, he's been on bute, which should have helped him.
You say you've stopped feeding him bute. When did you stop? and why? It does take a while to get into the system, and come out too.
I would put Archie back on box rest, and give him his bute. When you do see the back lady, explain exactly what's happened, and tell her that he is on bute.
Hopefully, with a few tweeks she might be able to make him more comfortable. Remember though, that the after care is just as important, so listen to her advise when you start him off again.
As for the people who are interested, just explain that he isn't right at the moment, but that you are sorting it out, and will get back to them.

well vet didnt say about coming off it slowly so just assumed to stop completely was fine etc, i know i prob shouldnt be lunging him, just at my witts end with his lameness issues dont know whether to continue with vet route or try bck lady etc if you see what i mean. he last had bute yesterday at about 5ish so hasnt had any today. i dont think this is a sudden problem hes been on/off lame on front or so i thought just assumed was lack of use but now i dunno??
back lady is gona try come out tomoz at 6pm so if she doesnt find a problem then i guess its back to vet route with xrays etc i guess im rushing because i dont want insurance to run out and then me end up paying for all that.
got vet bill back now, its funny the visit for one horse cost more than the two visits for other one!!!

hi f_s_ im ok just tired and a bit stressed out . mum is still in hospital and quite poorly but better she is in for quite a long haul. my friend has been up and down she goes into hospital for an appiontment to find out when she starts the chemo on wednesday. as it turned out she had cervical and ovairian cancer. so been running about like mad visiting mum and my friend and then checking her horses and doing my horses. the weather has been so bad downher that i had the horses in at night for a few day they are all out with lightweight rugs on even ellie she has got my ponies 4'9 lightweight on and it just fits her

i keep having really weird dreams
lasts nights was horrible, it was about my mare (cleo) she hurt herself done a tendon i think but was really sick altho still able to un away??! worst thng was i couldnt get hold of vet and she was getting worse and worse then i woke up.
another dream i had was that everyone got this virus thing was ate away at your flesh but you didnt die, there was only a few people let alive in the world, which doesnt make sense if you think about it??
im really worried about the dream about my mare because a few have come true about her. when i was due to visit her at schooling yard night before i had a dream, she was being ridden before we got there but had been naughty and girl had fallen off so the guy beat crap out of her.
