Sweet FA....Monday!

Morning all!

Ugh, Monday again... just got to keep telling myself that it's one more week and then half-term next week! Woohoo! I'll be able to go up the yard and throw the horse out, then go home and back to sleep and not have to worry about pupils!

This first half-term has been so knackering I honestly can't wait!

Today's plans are teach for an hour, then go ride madam, then teach again at another school for a grand total of half an hour, then home and teach again. S'all good. Going to practice the exercises we were given at Riding club yesterday with Genie today, so she'll be happy as that means a lot of canter.... Just got to persuade her that it's canter at MY speed, not hers......

I did love mondays, walked into work this morning and ex has taken day off with manflu, how inconsiderate of him, I wanted to ride tonight but now have to work to 8

Off to sort out the horses, then do a bit of housework, then horses, then more housework (don't you just love it!! NOT!!)

Serves me right really, couldn't be bothered last night!!

Had a good weekend, Ted was a bit of an arse as he's started to settle in and has begun the process of "testing the water" and i'm refusing to let him get away with it!

morning guys hope we are all ok. i have just been out and done the toby round and thinking it is time to bring the horses in for the winter they are now doing the hanging around the gate ect. It is such a horrible day today yucky and wet

Tikino, jerry has the same look in his eyes as my chestnut mare, when they show their whites its as if they are saying,

Morning just woken up did the horse at 8.00 and then came home and got into my jammies.

He started being a little cheeky knowing I am under the weather. I havent been practising keeping his table manners refreshed. I got shoved in the stable so I indicated my displeasure I wont say how in case the fluffy bunnies report me to the we never smack police.

He looks lovely T, a bit skinny but we knew that from your posts! He looks like he'll be very kind once he settles. Was working all day yesterday and v busy, so missed the original photos.
Hope FiL is ok F_S.
Idlp - my friend's horse gets that sometimes on his tummy as well as his legs. He's too lazy to pull his willy out to wee so the urine splashes on his tummy, burns his skin causing it to bleed and then the blood mixes in with it and splashes onto his legs. It's sore and unpleasant and there's very little you can do about it, but nothing serious. Check his tummy just in front of his sheath as well.

i cannot workout what is going on with my back

yesterday felt better still didnt ride or do anything too strenous (sp)

today it feels worse stiff and painful

im fine to lift things like buckets, bales of hay

but sitting down hurts, standing up hurts, basically bending is a problem

im so confused dont really wana go back to chiro costs money

but i want to start riding again and there is a comp on this weekend which i would like to go to

so cob knee still got bump on

vet is coming out wed for archie anyway, but from what he said last visit he would want to xray next

surely he could do blood test first and check heart etc or am i being stupid??

im guessing as other one is insured he assumes this one is as well so is milking it (thing is he's not!!) what do you think?

I cant advise on the back prob but do sympathise. What did your chiro say ??
There must be some gentle stretching exercises that will help but you may have to bite the bullett and go back.

What would you do if it was your horse who was struggling ??

well ive been twice already

pelvis was out first time after fall, she done a few more adjustments second time and gave me exercises but dont seem to be helping

OH seems to think could be a trapped nerve and to have acupuncture(sp?) done

ldlp - I think you need to get your back sorted properly and tell the vet which one is insured and which one isn't so he can change treatment/tests if necessary.

Just had the vet out to the lame one and he's got to go for an X-ray on Friday to pinpoint what's up.
Best we find out i suppose instead of keep faffing with bute. Just feel sad for him, i think it's getting him down now.

Edit to say, sorry Idlp, you sound like you've got painful probs of your own, hope the chiro can fix you

Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts for my FiL

He's not great at the minute, but they are taking him in for an operation so hopefully he will be alright

Idlp - best thing is to get the chiropracter to look at your back, they do take a bit of time to heal though

SD - hope the x rays sort out the problem, fingers crossed for your horse

All mine are ok and feeding their faces as fast as I can shovel it in them!!!

The worst is the staring match to see when I'll give in and feed them more!!

Nothing like making you feel guilty!!

Rode Darcy for a quick 20 minute hack today around the block, was planning on going furthur but he was like riding a jelly..

Then tried to get him to do some schooling whilst we were hacking - failed . Will try again tomorrow

Mm, it was okay! Not as good as the hack but then she is sour to school so cant really blame her . I've never ridden a more unbalanced horse in my life though

Even with spurs!

Anywho , we had a nice loose trot just around the arena on either rein and then I just focused on the walk and in the end she was doing half 10m circles etc nicely. Buut she started to get a bit sticky and tense so gave her a loose rein and left it at that
