Hey all, well its been a while since I've started a post as I'm usually well away at work! So, morning!!!!!

Away pony hunting this morning, out on my own boys this afternoon

Rather bright and chipper for this time of day S_V
grin.gif
. Happy pony hunting! And congrats on the hubby's new contract

.

I'm contemplating shaking a leg at the world. Just text instructor as can't remember if I booked a lesson or not
blush.gif
Had a reply, no I didn't. Can't decide whether to be pleased or disappointed. Have woken up in a weird mood - it's probably a come down from spending the last three days living on Red Bull and strong coffee

. Wondering whether to ride the Dizzy one. Not ridden since Monday and she was a prat, but thinking about it, she's only gone back to how she used to be. Part of me is wondering how many times I can 'start again' with her, especially as she gets bigger and fitter. I never used to feel particularly worried on her (slightly concerned on the odd occassion, but nothing of note), but Monday was no fun and she did't actually bob off, just felt like she was going to. Ho hum.

mrsmozart: Go and have fun with the dizzy one

seaview: congrats for your OH and have fun pony hunting

I'm going to go swimming today, havent swam for a long time but I just feel like it. (Although it does depend on how much red dye comes out of my hair when I go in shower lol
(PS, this is first time I've posted on FA, hope I'm allowed to and its not members only)

Been up since 5AM to see Mummy and Sister off to competition; Jacks second, and the first time he's ever gone without a companion
crazy.gif

Now looking after puppy, who couldn't go becuase he finds everything scary and would try to run away
frown.gif
also looking after next doors kittens, chickens, geese, sheep and dog. For £35 a week!
grin.gif

And... reminicing about jumping and galloping Jack yesterday, bearing in mind that I was too scared to ride him for 18 months, I'd say quite an acheivement!
laugh.gif
Certainly better than my spelling this morning, anyway!

Morning All!

Thanks, MM. I wasn't brave enough to ride him on the road, so sister rode him up onto the moors for me, and I'd say it's official; the boy can jump!

It will come with time hun - you're doing a grand job

Hellooo!

Well we were all sorted to take daughter and pony over to a little local sj show...but the trailer is broken: brakes on one back wheel seized solid. Sadly we realise this was because last trip out was through the ford, and of course when you push the trailer back into the parking space, the brakes go on a bit so even though it wasn't parked with the hand brake on it was enough to be seized solid. OH has fixed it now but as he had a wheel off, is servicing it. Our friend asked 'have you got a new trailer then?' which he was chuffed about as it's definitely 2nd hand and 3 years old.

Have just had the conversation about how much he hates the politics of his job (day 1 of his 2 week holiday and amazingly the phone hasn't rung yet) : he wonders how much would people pay for a full trailer service and valet?

Pony is getting fat eating the longer grass in our back garden, while daughter contemplates the choice of going for a hack or doing some schooling. I am supposed to be doing the washing up but would rather be sunning myself in the garden like Slinky.

Mrs M you should go and enjoy Dizzy, not be frightened of what might (or might not happen). Personally I am of the view that if you go in the thought mode: 'we are going to enjoy ourselves and Dizzy is going to behave and NOT bob off', then Dizzy will actually be thinking 'OK MrsM IS in charge so whilst bobbing off might be fun maybe I should just do as I am told as it'll be better'. I agree with Slinky: go and book those lessons. Daughter, as you know, has had huge confidence issue with reins being snatched (and rider dumped) to the extent she wouldn't fold over jumps on 'normal' ponies at the riding school. Having spent 2 days at RS this week on a 'normal' pony with lots of jumping practise, and even though her own pony has totally given up all thoughts of misbehaving for the past 2-3 months it was only yesterday they were soaring over 2ft3-2ft 6 smoothly without this concern about the reins - and pony was exceptionally good considering the electric fence menage ropes were missing and it was just a big field of lush lush green grass now the hay has gone! Thinks with her stomach that one!

JHT well done on the jumping, I jumped 5 jumps this week by accident (instructor said at end of hack, lets just pop into the jumping field as they're only 9" - follow me, so I did!)First for 30 years or so, so know how you feel.

RG I paid a small fortune for magenta highlights which were lovely but they faded to chestnuty-gold after a month or so, and I didn't go swimming, so you might as well swim!

Dubsie - what a pain about your trailer!! I suppose the upside is at least it happened at home rather than when you were at a show.

Well I offically need a kick up the bum for tomorrow!
n055.gif
! I haven't ridden in the end today as it was just too hot
f035.gif
and now its cooling off I just can't be bothered - it has been quite nice to have a day off and do nothing!! I think I just desperately need a holiday (only 5 days left at work) as I am losing the will to live...........
a045.gif

Anyway - enough moaning from me - how has everyone elses day been??

hi guys

well so far today we (me and oh)have made new pen for fat cob to go in, then we tidied tack room looks so much better now. then took dog for walk and coincidently found excellent footpath to bridleway potential(oh says just ride on it now dont worry about trying to change it).

then done poo-picking in field.

then gave archie quick lunge coz i was too knackered to ride. now im abit confuzzled he is sound in appearance on left rein but in trot on right rein he is noticebly lame?? so is this a stiffness issue? or??

Evening everyone!!!

Hi Guys
smile.gif

Well, I'm absoloutly itching to ride around the fields by my house!! ( And following previous posts - YES , I know the farmer!!
grin.gif
) I didn't realise how large they were
blush.gif
Took the doglett for a walk around them today and oooh I'm so excited. It's about a mile long, slightly uphill and the stubble is just right. I was sad enough to take photos, which are coming up!!

Oh, and I can't pick up the cat until next week now
frown.gif

On the 3rd photo the 3 square blobs on the river is Canary Wharf - 20 miles away
grin.gif
I can see the little flashing light from my room
smile.gif

Oh and yes! It seems like aages to be in the vets though, the poor little thing. It'll be 3 weeks next week! They want us to ring on Monday for some reason though, can't remember what!

I definitely can't see Canary Wharf from my window!!!
