Poor Max, hope he is OK. One of ours had a scare, and now she won't go into the field without us. Not a bad thing though, as keeps her away, although none of mine are too bothered about dogs!

Daughter's horse is a bit tetchy sometimes

He is fine - I think it will have just made him a bit more wary - no bad thing as he was getting a bit cocky! Inca isn't stroppy normally but she was trying to get to her feed and I think he ws just to close - Nixon on the other hand would cheerfully stomp on a dog if it was near his feed!!

Anyway if it ,makes him a bit more cautious it will be no bad thing - Sweep stays well out of the way as he isn't as daft as he looks!!

- then I'm going to cook Thai Green Curry - yummy!!

The 2 week trial will be perfect as it gives here the time to try jumping her across the X country here as well as the show jumps as well as doing a hack with her old fart of an aunt - so sensible - and a mad hoon around with one of the other girls here and have a couple of lessons so will get a real feel for her. She is chestnut with a flaxen mane - the only thing she doesn't like is clipping and having her mane pulled - would need to be sedated to have either done.

It's good she can have a trial, gives a real insight into the horse! Mane pulling and clipping is not so bad, after all you can always sedate a bit, might even get to be good with it

Morning all whoops late again. Evening all.

Got my Ironing Board out today for the first time in about 6 months.

Carried it out to the shed draped a bin bag over it and yep I was right perfect height for potting up the Winter Pansies that just came through the post.

Following on from this I emptied out two Compost Bins and spread the Luverly compost on me borders. I said to OH I seem to spent my whole live shovelling and sweeping (patio had to be swept clean) and do you know what he said??

"Well its not like you ever do it in the house!"

I have a question! (waves hands)

Well, when I got Darcy in tonight I divided up his mane for the P word and then put him in his stable with some hay etc while I went to pick my sister up.

I must've been gone for about twenty minutes and when I came back I noticed that Darcys face had swollen up a bit, and when I moved his head collar , it left actual imprints on his cheeks

They had gone down when I left and he was he usual self and as if nothing was wrong.

He has always suffered with puffiness in his face before, like grass mumps etc which he did have today and his glands were a bit up, but not by much. Whole yard survey said to see how he was in the morning and not to worry.

Yay / Neigh? Obviously if he'll be staying put if he's still like it.

Not very good at explaining!!

The grass is starting to flush again now, the misty mornings and sunny afternoons, haven't helped.

Although it looks like there isn't much around, there is actually quite a lot here!!!

I would check again in the morning, but could be a bit of grass mumps

Thought so, the longer he came off the grass the more they seemed to go down etc

As usual though he has come in with a large-skinned area on him

Last two times were on his face , this time its a 2inch kick mark on his back legs
