Slinky - I am giving it serious consideration, ever mindful that my kids are not babies any longer!!!

Lots of things have happened in the last year, and especially with both sets of parents having pretty scary health problems. OH's Dad had an operation again yesterday, OH stayed at their house last night, would be nice to have a property all in one.

This house is lovely, and I do like it, but it is old, and although we have made lots of improvements and repairs, it still needs work done, which pulls us away from the yard!!

f_s - how does OH feel about living at the yard?

Don' think he'd mind actually, just hard for him to imagine living in a dwelling that technically isn't a house!!

I suppose, I'm very much a country person, brought up in it, used to animals, wild and domesticated, etc!!!

He loves the yard, loves doing the ground work, tractor driving and planting etc, but deep down he is a town person!!! Until we were married he'd only ever had one cat in their house and she had died years before I met him!!!

I think as long as you make it your home, that's what a house/property is. He is still a bricks and mortar person!!!

Will say one thing about him though, he is a fantastic environment specialist!!! Knows all sorts of legislation, and understands all types of heat sources, water irrigation systems, light, environmental regulations, how to dispose of things properly etc, and he's good at buildings!!!

an advantage...I think he should put all this to good use!!!!

See I'm with you - can't get overly attached to property. Wasn't that bothered when I owned my flat and now I rent because I couldn't afford to buy in this part of the world and the sort of place I live in never gets sold anyway as its part of an old Country Estate. I think it bothers other people more than it bothers me that I rent - can honestly say it doesn't cross my mind from one month to the next!! Mind you i am lucky as I can do what I like to the place.

Right have seen the news and weather and am off to my pit!! Another busy day of riding, clipping and poo picking ahead of me!!
