Is grey and miserable here today BUT not raining - yet!! Have done the neds and walked the dogs just having crumpets and hot chocolate for breakfast and then I'm to go to the eventer trial with my neice so she can see what she has to do!!

So far, had a great lie in! Off to have a lesson on Ted shortly, followed by a mooch around Gatcombe Park Craft Fair and then my cousin coming up later with the little ones - phew busy day!!!

Morning all

Have a day off- phew! Off to do the horses now- just hope my youngster has been behaving himself! Hubby has done them for the last few days. He was charging around his field yesterday all wound up, hubby stayed but out of sight to make sure he settled. He always does this if I don't appear for a few days- do you think he misses me? lol
After the stables I am off to the tack shop to restock, then home for a bacon buttie

Got home last night to hear that Friend's car was poorly, so lent her mine to go to the yard. Went with her as she was changing dressing on New Lad's leg. Well, let's just say he wasn't too chuffed at the idea

Me 'n' Wimbles on his head, tried lifting various legs up (flying lessons!), stompted the poorly leg, so what had looked good when Friend got the dressing off, looked yuck - all sticky outy and blood, blah. Note: we'd tried the gentle approach first! This horse does not respond in the required way to twitches, chifney, anything really - including, as we found out last night, being heavily sedated by the vet. He's a lovely lad, but he's only four and off the track (ex-racehorse) and is learning about being a horse. So, it was a long old day all in all. We left him mumbling at his bed, once we were happy the sedation had worn off enough that he wouldn't choke. I think, despite being swung round and coming close to losing various parts of my anatomy to various of his antics, that he is a lovely lad and he's going to have a very good life with my friend

Morning all,
Just trying to summon the energy to get out of my jim jams and get up to the farm. Archie gets his first ride in company for 5 months today, sort of. Friends are going on a circular route and I'm heading out when they're 1/2 an hour from home to meet them which should be in about an hour and quarter so I'd bettter get my arse in gear. Haven't taken him out in company since he's been back in work as don't want to wind him up too much. Weather is ych-y-fi though really grey and miserable. Quite fancy a day in front of the fire, might bring my tack home to clean. It's gone all mouldy from not being used!

Then I will fail at attempting to catch the pony and resort to my OH catching him (me and the grey one don't get on at all) I will then worm them and the grey one will hate me even more. Brilliant!

she pulled away from me i was stood holding trimmers and stroking her with oter hand, so i left them on and then moved closer to her again and calmed down and stopped cow-kicking and start mouthing so i left it at that.

do you think that was right thing?? this took about 10 min if that

I am so jealous by all the tasty things you lot are having for breakfast! We have no food in whatsoever even the milk is off so couldnt even have a cup of tea. Had to settle for a can of chopped oranges :-( Think its time i really went food shopping today..... Black pudding sandwich mmmmmmm

Hey all - have woken like a bear with a sore head except I don't really have a sore head. Think cabin fever has set in and I'm barking everyone's heads off - that being hubby, pooch and pooster!

Can't believe I have to stay inside until my results incase it is pig flu - I want to go out!!!! Grrrr!!!!

Anyway, promise not to bite anyone's heads off here - well unless you are you know who!!!

BE do arena events whch are similiar, you ride a round of SJ onto XC - defo good to get the season started and for newbies horse and/or rider to get a look at some fences and how to ride them in a more controlled environment so thumbs up from me

I'd be too worried anyway as my stables are at my mumand dad's and there is always loads of people in and out adn I'd hate if it turned out I did have the pig flu and anyone caught it - too much of a worry wart for that on my conscience!

Hope the weather is better than here for everyone else, though it might have just stopped ...need to venture out as chickens need cleaning out today. Hope you get the job Mrs M!

I am (supposed to be) finishing bookwork, my most favourite job of all.....shortly to dump pile and file at bookkeeper's to complete VAT return for me.

Then daughter and I will head off to the supermarket to find her something else to eat. Honestly she's eaten everything left that's edible in this house, hope she's not going to have another growth spurt as her age 13 school trousers (she was only 10 in June) will be round her ankles by Christmas and poor little No 1 LGW will look rather silly underneath her, this is a month ago:

HAhahha Slinky, she's her own plague of locusts. As well as breakfast (waffles) she's already eaten 2 bags of Wotsits a huge chunk of cheese, half a pack of biscuits, 3 apples a plum and a kiwi fruit, and is currently tucking into a pepperoni pizza and cucumber slices for lunch. Cupboard now bare!

S_V I blame her Dad he's 6ft 3 and she's slim like him not chubby like me, despite all she eats. We really need to go 14.2 pony shopping before her feet touch the ground - if she jumps higher than 2ft 3 in the photo it can be her feet rather than the pony's that touch the poles (same size as mine so she's always using my boots and shoes)
