Sat in bed still, reading Twilight - possibly one of the last people to get into these damn books hehe
laugh.gif

Wanted to go riding but moving doesn't look possible at mo, far too comfortable so possibly a day of simply FA

I've just read those books!!! What do you think so far? My daughter gave them to me to read, and I'm still a bit ummmm not sure, about them!!

Got up at 9 with OH, we made pancakes with chocolate sauce and strawberries, and now I am "horsing it" whilst OH is down the flying field flying his glider with his mate (model, not full size!!)

Got to take some friends to airport later on but other than that, nothing else!

Ahh this is what Sundays are all about!!

I crawled out of bed at eleven

D is working on the website after I made him do a change and crash the system

Bad me. He's fixed it now, but now I have to put some test data in. Ho hum.

Sat watching Hickstead on H and C and drinking tea. Will troll off to the yard later.

I got up at 5.30 this morning (I am mad I know!) went and rode my horse, had a nice hack bar someone nearly skidding into us with their car (see post below), then came back home, had a second breakfast!
laugh.gif
Came on here for a bit, did some painting, listened to some music, cleaned out my car. Now I am having some lunch, have to go to work this afternoon

Well I got up and did jobs - then got in the grey mud monster, chipped off the mud, tacked up and then went for a hack all on our own!!
b020.gif
He was a very good boy - didn't have a single hesitation, back up, nap etc etc and we had to go over 4 scary horse eating troll bridges!!
g005.gif
Only one spook at a stupid pheasant just as we stopped for a bike at the last scary horse eating troll bridge - I think I had the bigger heart attack
e025.gif
- stoopid bird!!! So chuffed with the grey lump I don't even mind that he went straight back out and put all the mud back on............

cheers slinky,( change from a bang on the head ) told daughter next one she gets it has to be the right one as it will never be leaving us.............ever. He has left a huge hole in our hearts.
Going to be strange only mixing up one feed and not having to walk over to his field and see him with his head over the gate waiting for us, will miss him badly.
But hey ho they seem lovely with him and only want the best for him and they are so relaxed around him, they will do him good.

It will get better - especially when you hear he is settled and happy in his new home. It is so important to find the right one and you will - just don't rush into it and stick to your 'list' of what you need - there are things you would 'like' that you can compromise on but not the things you need. The right one is out there for you.

Hugs only
a060.gif
- no chocloate
h025.gif
as I am still on my diet.......

Hi Samstar, really glad it went well for Harley, big hugs to you and daughter. It's horrible when they go, but you know where he is and can take a quick peep every so often.

Agree with taking your time to look for the right horse, we're in the same situation, and taking it really slowly.

It will be a bit raw for a few days, you will never forget, but time does mean that the memories will be good ones, and you will smile when you think of him.

Take care hun xx

ETS - spelling was awful!!!

yeah we can go and see him whenever we like, he is only 2 mins walk from daughters school. And she will still be able to ride him now and again
smile.gif

Good times are already going through my head, but also wonder what he's thinking right now.

He's probably thinking....."oh, this is new, I wonder what this is...or I'll look over there"

It's good that you can see him, and ride him too. It will help to ease the situation.

It seems daft, but, I do think it's tougher for us than them. As long as they are well looked after, have food, water and care, they are fine. Unfortunately, it's us that feel sad.

Keep thinking of the good times, and take it steady today. You've had a lot to contend with. x

Knowing Harley...he'll be parading up and down the field showing off his 'appendage'...lmao

In all honesty though... he took his move up here in his stride and I'm sure he'll do the same today....most horses, as long as they have food and water, settle in quite quickly. Its us that struggle more

Hey Samstar - big brave hugs - well done u two, I'm glad you have taken the step and he'll be fine.

Paddy and I went schooling today with our homework from Friday's lesson so we are armed for tomorrows lesson - Paddy had other ideas and was a big poop head for about the first 20 mins, not liking my newly spurred right leg (I've just to wear a button spur on my right leg only so as he comes off it and doesn't lean so much on it). Had big poop head giraffe necked tantrums and then settled well into his work so we ended on a good note.

Now sitting here contemplating what to do next - start diner or have a glass of wine!?!
