Its just whether to stick it out over winter with the school etc, or to just give him a bit of a winter break and bring him over here. I'll have to see where the wind blows I think.
 
Do you have ur own place D_L - is that where 'over here' is - is there no school?

Yep, I've got 3 acres at my house that's just sat doing nothing at the moment. Its rented off the farmer who had said until we graze it , for us to just give him £10 a week as a bit of rent. But, he has since not come to collect it and when we ring him about it he says oh don't worry for now . Even still - I feel bad

I'd move D_L. Honestly, I have my own place and it beats being on livery any day of the week!

When I bought my place it was just a field!! We built the yard, the stables, put in a school, electricity and water, and a round pen. It is fabulous being able to do what you want, when you want. I know that there isn't much company , but I have my horses and dogs, and no THING breathing down my neck and making stupid, ill informed comments!! (I left a yard, because they were so bitchy!)

In the beginning we taped off a level grass area and used that as a school. With the winters we have been having (dry and very cold) I would go for it and move.

And we have barns that we had been planning to convert , but have since realised that getting stables would be cheaper. We've got a package deal at the moment that's on hold until barn 1 is safe to be built behind

I ditto f_s I have my own place and would have that anyday. I have my wee stables adn my wee hay shed - I don't have a school so I hack to my instructors or tow down in the winter. U'll move and wonder why you didn't do it sooner. THING is obviously jeaous!

It has been along weekend and am knackered, roll on monday evening, then 2 days off
