Its a glorious morning here

or three before attacking the neds today!!

When I fed them earlier the BGL has been grooming the coblet and pulled all the bands out of her plaits so she can't see!!! I told him I was watching his relatives last night performing their Kur's and didn't see a single tantrum, backing up, teddy throwing moment and so I now expect him to behave in the same fashion. We will be practising our GP moves and our Kur later.......

If you listen really carefully you will hear something.......can you hear it

Today I is being mostly grumpy.

I woke up at 3am with the cough from Hell. took a swig of Cough mixture then read the label which says 5ml in a glass of water consult your doctor if you exceed the stated dose.

Hmmh methinks phone the Doctor at 3am on Sunday "excuse me I have taken too much cough mixture and it wasnt in water!". Doctor would say how much did you take, I would say a Gobful however much that is.

Went back to bed thinking I'll die in my own bed thank you.
disturbed OH who got up and went to sleep in spare room.

This was a disaster as I needed a bedwarmer so got up and got a blanket out.

Got up twice more for water woke up shattered and crawled down to big pony driving under the influence of Cough Mixture (can they do you for that ??) 8am in case you ask.

Yard which starts early on show days had not given big pony his brekky. I leave it for them to feed so he doesnt witness everyone else being fed but him. It was in a purple bucket with a Big Label saying Drifter Sunday Breakfast.

See L? coming across the field with the overnighters looking very rough and before I could say anything she said sorry I forgot to feed Drifter.

Fed the lump mucked out his hovel he looked like he had either had a bad night a party or a wicked sense of humour.

Turned out all the Livery Boys (only 4 of them) as that way I know the tired or is it hungover L wont forget that as well. I think she either has a bad case of stress or man problems or maybe work problems.

Drive home had my brekky and now I think I will snuggle up for an hour with the cat and my best friend the Duvet.

Goodnight all.

morning
why is it when you have time to do things that you,ve been meaning to do, you manage to convince yourself not to.

was gona pressure wash trailer out but it keeps raining and ive decided its not warm enough to dry it quickly.

tack could do with a clean, but am lacking inspiration to do that.

dog needs a walk but see note above it keeps raining.

to top that off theres nowt good on tv.

Just woken up and crawled from under the Duvet.

Me and Tiggy thought we had only been asleep for 10 minutes but apparently not.

So what did I dream about? Lungeing big pony and having muscles like the posh lot at Windsor last night. Oh to have a horsey like that.

heres a photo of my little mate after she had crawled into OH's trousers!!

As you say time to sort out winter riding stuff - sweat rugs excercise rugs etc and wash and clean all the jackets, boots etc Need to get all of them waterproofed, cleaned and treated before they get another winters hammering!

I'm struggling to find somewhere to have my rugs cleaned and re proofed around here!! Flipping nightmare!!
confused.gif

I have quite a few to do as well!!
shocked.gif
shocked.gif
Last time I paid a fortune at the local CCF, but don't really want to do that this year ( besides they are so bl**dy awful in there!!)
shocked.gif

Thought about shoving the in the washing machine and then buying some re proof stuff, but have never done it, and not sure that it would really work!!
crazy.gif
crazy.gif

I have all mine done by the local tack shop - its about £20 for a turnout to wash and reproof and about £17 for stable rugs and they check and do any necessary repairs too. I have never tried to do them myself - washing machine not big enough and I can't risk breaking it!! I tried a couple of other people locally but wasn't happy with them as the rugs leaked. Who ever the tack shop send them to do a fabulous job - they come back looking like new and they never leak. I think its worth paying for as it makes them last longer. Is there no where else near you that does them?

I think you're right there, have always had mine done through a tack shop/rugwash before, and they were fine.
smile.gif

I think I'll ask at a few of the local tack shops, they should do them there. It does pay to have them done properly, just felt I was a bit ripped off last year!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

I'll have to get the little trailer out to haul them all there!!! Only joking!!!
laugh.gif
laugh.gif
laugh.gif
It's the tonne of mud that goes with them that's the problem!!!

I know

!! When I took mine they had to be piled up on the back seat of the car - it seemed to take ages for the smell to go

!! And as for the size of the spider that crawled out when I got to the tack shop............

ldlp - the new ones do need to be cleaned and reproofed - maybe not every year but certainly every now and then. It helps to make sure that the horses stay properly dry.
smile.gif

ive never re-proofed any of mine but then i have done a fair few repairs
mad.gif
grin.gif

i think im gona get a nice heavyweight one for a cleo this winter, a all in one one so you dont get the neck piece blowing up and leaving a gap!! been looking at the black amig ones
tongue.gif
grin.gif

Idlp - I don't reproof the rugs every year, but do have them done every other year. You still need to re proof them, and of course clean and mend them.

By doing this I have Rambo rugs that are maybe 12/13years old, and still going strong!!!
shocked.gif

yeah shes already got a anti-rub vest(bra lol) coz rug she has now (which has seen better days!!) used to rub her chest and shoulders.

OMG!!! If my rugs only lasted a year, it would cost me the price of a horse!!!

Remember Idlp I have six horses, all have a heavy weight, medium weight, light weight, stable rugs, and fly rugs!! Then there are the spare ones, extra heavy weights, medium weights and lightweights, the sweat rugs, travel rugs....I don't have a rug fetish, honest!!!!

hmmm i think you do have a rug fetish

shocked.gif

well mine dont have that many rugs each, im talking turnout rugs dont last long, i buy masta rugs which are about £50, rambos are alot more expensive!!!

shocked.gif
grin.gif

I'm with you f_s
smile.gif
smile.gif
!! I like my rugs to last - the oldest one has just died - I had it for 9 years but it was secondhand so really it was more like 15 years old. All the coblets rugs are at least 8 years old and the BGL's are coming up for a year.

I would be livid if any of my rugs fell apart in a year!!
blush.gif

I think cheap rugs are a false economy, sorry, but it's true Idlp!
grin.gif

Years ago the Masta rugs weren't brilliant, and so I bought Rambo's which, at the time, were a lot more expensive, but have lasted for ages. Also I find they don't move on mine, and therefore don't seem to rip to the same extent.

There are some lovely rugs out there now, and many manufacturers have improved their rugs in leaps and bounds, but I still say that if you buy good quality rugs, you won't be buying them every year!!!
