Morning all and hope you had a good night like I did.
Got to drive lucy back out in morning to pick up her car as I have her keys, if she remembers that is. It was a really good night but whether I can be a*sed to ride tomorrow is a different question

Ugh, morning....

I went to bed a bit too early last night, so have had a rubbish night's sleep. Off to shower shortly and then this afternoon Genie and I have our showjumping debut! Doing the 2ft and 2ft3, and hopefully it will go well. If it does then I MAY possibly do the 2'6.
 
Thanks clipcloppop! I have comandeered a groom/photographer/calmer-downer, so am going to ask them to video my two rounds and then I can take stills off of the camera! They're being run as a two-phase so I am PRAYING that the jump-off course isn't too different to the first round! Am allowing plenty of time to get there and settle and walk the course then warm up... I just have this feeling I'll be first to go so won't be able to watch people!

I have two main aims....
a) Stay in the saddle and get round WITH Genie
b) No run outs (not so worried about this one)

We're off to Springwood. Daughter going to jump Little Cob, and maybe Big Cob too. We're hacking there, including me on the Dizzy one, so should be interesting! I've taken her to one show for a look-see earlier in the year and she was a star..., fingers crossed for today!

Morning all but its nearly afternoon in my book.

Nancy boy look a proper luvvy in his jarmas this am. (Powder blue and tartan fleecy weatherbeeta thingy).

Busy day today I edit the Stroud Cats Protection newsletter and as its due for printing soonish everyone submits their articles last minute. This edition should get them going

Afternoon everyone.

Been out with nappy this morning and had another brilliant ride, hopefully this good behaviour is in for good

. Went a bit further this time too, and she was in full spook mode so we had a couple of dodgy moments when she nearly fell on her knees because a goat bleated at her. But I'm feeling great cos we had a couple of dodgy moments but rode through it brilliantly

. Went out onto the road a bit this time, going further afield tomorrow. I'm gonna keep taking her this way until she's more confident, then I'm heading the other direction over the bridge (there's a horse-eating troll under the bridge

), which is a big sticky point for us so fingers crossed once she's built up a bit ofconfidence we'll manage that too. Plus she was totally chilled in her stable, even when I went out of sight.

Hey all, just in from the STRESSage debut - man alive - what a weird day - took camera, totally forgot to take any pictures too busy being in a tizz!

ANyway - warmed up beautifully, very calm and relaxed, cantered both leads fine and in a remarkably non-motorbiked fashion.

Judge was a little late starting so I had time to wander him round the school, popped into a little trot and OMG I had forgotten to take Pads into the school and had taken a ginger giraffe instead

- put my leg on asked him to move forward and we were cantering round the school - great!!!

Bell rang off we went, whole test went out my head luckily pal was on hand and realised and started calling it, Pads was like a train, I felt awful as if he really wasn't softening and wrond bend and not listening to leg - anyway, came out a sweaty blob a bit peeved.

(forgot to mention the AR*E who used her own mounting block at the entrance, fell off it and her horse trampled all over it as I was doing my test - ta much for that!

Into warm up for test two - OH Pads is back, nice and chilled, long and low - asked where he had been for test one - he had no answer!

Into test two - giraffe is back, totally motorbiked the corners at canter, felt horrider than the first one, cantered incorrect lead on right and was like a train in my hand.

Came out of both tests and pal said in her opinion they looked fairly good, she could see he was strong at points but really couldn't understand why I was so worked up. Got test sheets back 70%!!!!!!

for prelim 10 - judge wrote great trot work adn fantastic walk!?!?!?! and 55.6% for prelim 12 - judge saying what a lovely horse rider combination in her comments!

Anyway, Pads out with a big pat and a quiet word about the giraffe being left at home next time - all in all an ok debut...

Ok so he may have been doing giraffe impressions but it sounds like he was marching out and had enough impulsion!! I hope you got your sheets as at least you know how have stuff to work on and he will only better!! As for the daft bint that fell off the mounting block you should have got the Padster to throw his best shapes in her direction mid test

I left before the placings as I was on first in both classes so not sure but the girls organising it are going to drop my sheets off and I've text to find out where I ended out.

And I have our jumping report!

Travelled fine, got there WAY too early (we were ready to go so why not!). First class was the 2ft 'Vertigo' Stakes, she was BRILLIANT, did some AMAZING turns in the jump off, and we won it!!!

2'3 I was more nervous, clear in the first round but unfortunately touched a pole in the jump off. It had stayed for everyone else when they rattled it, but fell for us! Still good enough for 2nd though!!!
