Sweet FA....Thursday!!

I gather he's never suffered with anything like lymphangitis before? Thats the only big-swelling related "thing," I can think of anyway ..and I think its usually in the hind legs.
Sorry, I'm just jumping to worst-case conclusions! I'm a pain for doing that, so ignore me

Could he have knocked it galloping around etc in the field?

Don't take my word for it, but he could be developing a splint. Have you been doing any fast work recently, or a lot of jumping on hardish ground?

Darcy got a splint about 4 weeks ago , I've never once worked him hard in all the time I've had him! I think he just must've been hooning around the field and bashed his leg

If it is a splint, all you can do is rest him. You can even turn him out, as long as he doesn't hurl himself about.

It would be a case of waiting until it's hardened off, but having said that, the vet may have a different view. Now I think they can reduce them, but it depends if you want to go down that treatment route.

I know that some do go lame with them, and some don't. Unfortunately, if it is a splint, it's just one of those things

It is a hard bit, but only after it's hardened off, and there can be swelling and heat.

I could be wrong though

Just that I'd asked before and Idlp said there wasn't anything. Please don't take that the wrong way, as it genuinely wasn't meant like that!!!
