14.2hh, good full up type, Chestnut Connemara, bit older than we'd ideally like, he's 12 but really, really lovely, and has a great nature!!
He has mainly been used for dressage ( so daughter in love!!!) but can jump, doesn't rush, and loves CC, again is very good. Hacks out beautifully on his own, and isn't fussed about anything!!!
He's a bit of a delight really!!
Only two problems...I need to negotiate a little bit on the price, if she still loves him after another trial on Monday, and......he's got the most awful stable name!!!!
Well I am so pleased with Max!! His introduction to being a farm dog is going really well - I have been doing a little bit more with him everyday - today we have progressed from taking the feeds out to the horses to him hanging around in the field while I poo picked
!! Isn't interested in chasing the horses or anything!! Mind you he did get beaten up by one of the yard cats this morning!!
Next I need to decide what cakes I am going to buy tomorrow....I am thinking the little individual cup cakes from Waitrose.....
ooooooooooooooo you have a waitrose, I'd love to have them near us, they are so much for giving more to the farmers and and growers, and I do find them reasonably priced
DL we are here for you, you do know that don't you
. Just got a bit of a shock but going off to speak to someone tomorrow to give me a bit of advice etc as I'm totally lost
Went for a 2 hour ride and blew the cobwebs away so feel a lot better! Found my Myler also gave me some brakes for when Darcy gets a little excited too so I'm thrilled with my new buy .
Hey all, just in from pony viewing - will fill u in in a mo - need to compose myself as I have just heard the Lockerbie bomber has been freed. I lost my friend and her whole family in the bombing, I am so angry. Back in a mo
Thanks guys, just brings it all back - she had moved a couple of years earlier and they were all so happy there.
Anyway, need to change the subject.
Pony tonight far more what we are looking for, very nice, friendly, forward but not nuts. BUT pulls into jump last two strides (previous rider liked this) not overly stressed bout that but it chucked its head up regularly which I didn't like - any thoughts?
Thats how I felt - it is 12. I feel there are plenty more out there if they are willing to look might just take longer. Got the bay and another wee grey on Sat.
F_S I read that this one seemed nice - whats the plan of action?
Going back to try him again on Monday. Then we'll see if he's exactly what she wants. Tonight was a load of questions, good look over, quick ride, bit of a hack, and seeing how he react to stable, traffic, other horses etc!!
Daughter is quite taken, but sensible enough to know that she needs to try him again, and for a lot longer!!
If she really is sure, then we'll have to discuss dirty money I suppose!!!
*cough* - and name change!!!
Agree that you need to keep looking btw, they need to wait to get the right one!
