Basically, they are saying if you produce more than 7000 litres of cider at the specified proof then you must register.
It's dealing with the record keeping, and any spoilage you may have, filling in the forms, and any reclaims that you will need to make. Excise duty is a bit complicated but not too bad if you have the proper record keeping and processes involved.
I don't know about your business, but, I would think about getting records, processes, and procedures in place before you speak to them again. Obviously, from a revenue point of view there has to be a point when the goods become subject to duty and therefore you will need to factor that in.
well we are already registered for duty as we pay it on any cider we sell, needed to know if we had to pay duty on cider vinegar.
its not my business yet...looking like more trouble than its worth, so i dont know about any records etc i know we havnt made any cider for couple of years now so i guess records are upto date.
Hi everyone, very late today as have been to a briefing this morning, time that could have been better spent riding, grooming etc.
Had small accident on sunday where I attempted to tackle the bridge (not a good idea) and despite my best efforts, was getting nowhere. Took her back down the drive to try again but as she was spinning in circles trying not to turn in the direction I wanted, she stood on a hidden block of broken cement in the long grass, cue lots of blood and getting off and walking her back to the yard (about 100 yards away so luckily not far). When I've cleaned it all up it's mainly grazes with a few nicks, her right hind has a small but nasty lookin cut, so I hibiscrubbed it and put some protection plus on it. Was considering ringing vet but decided it was too small and not deep enough to stitch, had stopped bleeding and she wasn't lame, so they'd probs just give me some cream, which I had already so didn't ring vet. Turned her out and she went cantering across the field and bucking so can't be that bothered! Got her some no-bute just in case she was sore and she's had a couple of days off. Definitely wasn't as bad as I first thought, thank god!
Morning all!
Didn't make it here before work this morning, was having withdrawal! Done my morning's teaching and been to the yard to bring madam in to deflate... almost had a heart attack when she came to call! Only another 4 hours of teaching to do this evening....
Makes real life seem better though - at least your best friend isn't sleeping with your husband or your husband is really your brother or something else very dramatic...
hey all, just in from work and zooming back out to do my weekly dose of PC. Hope we are all well - was just thinking our Sweet FA posts seem to be getting quite famous! Lots of new members - welcome!
Catch ya'll laters - please have a wine on chill for when I return - you know how I need it after PC nights lol!

Afternooon went ok, just kept my distance
SIL was absolutely fine with me and we had a few giggles, jack (nephew ) bless him was as good as gold and talking loads (last time I saw him you'd get the odd gobbledy gook talk)
see you all in a bit for evening banter and the odd bottle of wine (remembers to leave a bottle for late comers)
Hello Peeps, as per usual I'm stuck in the office till 7pm!!! Bored!!! Still not done any packing other than about half of it at the weekend!!!! And I move on Friday!! Looks like a busy night on thursday doesnt it!!!!

Have had a great day today doing nothing but being around the horses
Bought Darcy a replacement waffle as he put his foot through the other one
So, only one rug needed on my rug list!
Had a brilliant ride today, being a bit mad!
Where my instructor keeps her horses to go and get them is about a 15 minute walk before you even get to the (big) field. And being that she's got a problem with her hip , helper has just had Carpal Tunnel operation etc who better to go and round up the horses ???
So, off me and Darcy went - flying up the field screaming "Hi Hooo Silver!!!!"
My friend did the same in the field next door and all the horses thought it was brilliant
