Now getting the kids ready for school and then off to the yard to give the horses their brekkie. Back home for more assignment researching and housework. On a 12hr shift tomorrow and T/F so going to make most of last day off.

Good morning all, my son as got a job interview at one after being made redundant in july so will be keeping everything crossed. He is costing me a fortune as he lives at home still he,s 21 good looking does anyone want him he is free to a good home.

ha ha snoopysue I've got a 23 yr old whose handsome looking for a job, living in a village and not being able to drive is making it hard for him to apply for jobs.
Just having my first cuppa then heading off up to horses.
Got a busy day wall papering then painting before my daughters 16th on saturday. Having 30 of her mates round, I'm dreading it

I love it when the weathers so crisp! I felt all snug wrapped up walking into work today! Ted's bits and bobs arrived from Equestrian Clearance today, so can't wait to try his new rugs on, use the new grooming kit and wear my new jodhs and socks

I'm hoping todays going to be busy at work today... it's getting colder so surely more people will be ordering heating oil today!

had xray yesterday, all progressing well apparently, so physio for a bit and another fracture clinic appt in 3 weeks.

so............

I went for a ride in the sunshine yesterday with mum, it was lovely, although numpty horse thought the random milk crate in the road was going to eat him. He forgot that although I only have one hand (which meant I couldnt put stick in left where I needed it) I have a pair of remarkably effective legs which will make him go past it any number of times until he can act his age.

and then had a canter in field when we got back, his canter is always the pace I miss riding most

so back at work/uni today, everything is a bit achey and I have pilates at lunchtime. Arm is a bit stiff but I think is that because I leant on it briefly while getting into bed last night by mistake and it didn't like that surprisingly!
 
Mornin all! Gorgeous day here, but a bit parky! I'm just waiting for the vet to jab my horse (3rd out of series of 4 Cartrophen injections for her ringbone).

Then working from home today (sounds great doesn't it, but reality is the expect me to actually work

Afternoon everyone, I'm very late today, have been up the yard this morning for farrier coming. I ended up helping someone else with their horse so missed my horse being shod, which I wanted to watch as I'm not totally happy with the farrier. Anyway, her feet look ok and she's not lame but apparently he just pulls the shoes off without loosening the clenches and so has ripped great chunks out of her feet. I'll try and post pictures later, see what you all think. They look better than last time I have to admit. And she's happy as larry. Then we watched someone else's horse being clipped in preparation for her being done on monday for first time in at least 4 years, and she fell asleep! That bodes well for monday

Aaaaaaaaarrghh chunky monkey and I have just been attacked by a German Shepherd!!!

Went out with him for a short quiet hack to keep his shoulder moving (on professional advice). We were on our way back along the road and 100yds down the bridle path to our right was a man obviously on the phone cos I could hear his voice. We drew level with the bridle path and 50yds away from us and 50yds in front of the man (if you get what I mean) was a German Shepherd, it spotted us and started to trot purposefully towards us.
I carried on but the dog came out of the bridle path after us, the bl**dy man was still on his phone and hadn’t a clue what his dog was up to, it started growling and darting from side to side around chunky monkey’s back legs so I shouted ‘can you get your dog please’ and I could see he was shocked his dog was not in his sight and he started shouting his dog back and walking SLOWLY towards us. BUT NO the dog wanted a bit of sport with my lad and bless him he was as good as gold, he just gently showed the dog he had barrels to fire but the bl**dy dog just kept snapping and going for him. So I shouted ‘sorry but your dog’s going to get kicked any second ’, which worked cos the block started to run. There was no way this dog was going to go back to his owner so I had to turn round and start heading back towards him, with his dog giving my lad shed loads of grief. Eventually he got his dog and apologised for what had happened, but if my lad hadn’t been hunted and used to my dogs it could have been very different for the dog.

Evening all! Back from Newmarket, which was to say the least a VERY good experience.. to cut a long story short I'll briefly say what I did..

Toured Cambridge, went to a yard and saw them ride two lots out, went to the Darley stud (saw Manduro, Echo of Light, Dubai Destination and Halling

) and it was AMAZING there. Also went to the NEH which is also a very fantastic experience, learnt a bit about how they work etc.. and today I went to British Racing School which is also fab, rode the mechanical horse and it seems like something that is a good experience (its free if you apply etc) and then finally I went to Tatterhall sales and saw the youngstock that sold.

All in all a very good trip and was fantastic to see it all

He just kept on falling in tonight so persisted on a circle etc spiralling him/ out to get more of a bend and get him moving a bit more and picked up canter and he fell in so sharply I thought he was falling over! Anywho, once I realised I gave him a slight smack with the whip to get him to go forward and hopefully out, and he had a bit of a bunny session!
