Well just picked up the dog and so glad to have him home
The people who look after him for us were sad to see him go but he looked very happy and settled lying in their kitchen so think he enjoyed his holiday too
It's now peeing hard with rain so I'm hoping it dries off before my ride!!! I will ride today!
I know what you mean about the weather - it was pouring this morning so Belle is out in mw with fleece underneath and neck bit on, but it has stopped and started and now seems to have stopped for good, hope she's not too hot!
Argh, desperately need an excuse for not pickin Mam up from a night out on friday! I know it sounds awful but although I love her to bits, she's walking all over me and I'm being a complety skivvy and she's taking a lend now. I take her shopping every saturday, every saturday I take her to B&Q for yet more DIY stuff and every time she complains that I'm either late or early! Plus everything else I do for her, too much to go on about here.
I've had enough. I said I couldn't take her on fri as won't be finished at yard by time she goes, but she wants picking up. To put this in perspective, my bro lives with her and has a car but she never asks him to do anything! He's so lazy. And now she's ringing me and I've had to fob her off saying I'm in a meeting and will ring her back, just because I can't think of an excuse!
Evening all! f_s isn't home yet so I don't know the outcome and I shall let her tell you all
College wasn't too bad today apart from I now know my boot is most definately LEAKING.. I had a sopping wet cold foot all day long. Must start to wear my newer long boots (need breaking in though)
Looking forward to tomorrow! Hopefully will be off riding like mad
"The cars broken, wont be fixed for 4 days (this means no saturday either)"
"I'm afraid I have an emergency, friend needs me!"
"I can't make tonight as I forgot I was invited to a friends party (make it a big number like, 18th, 21st, 40th, etc etc)"
Or JS you could say thats fine but if I come and get you on Friday night I can't take you shopping on Saturday - so brother will have to do it. You decide which one you want me to do and which one he is doing and then let me know but I need to know by Wed night as I have lots of things to do this weekend so need to get organised. Then stick to it - what is the worst she can do? not speak to you? she is the one who will be losing out not you. I know its hard but sometimes you need to remind your parents you do have a life and things to do - don't let her make you feel guilty instead make your brother do his share.
Hello all,
not been around for a few days work manic and broadband playing up at home - OH working a lte shift tonight as well so if he didn't sort it out this morning it won't be fixed then either.
Very wise advice there slinky, no wonder you got an award at work - we don't get anything like that where I am, they won't spend tax payers money on it - oh the irony!
Ha ha, thanks for the ideas everyone. I've told her my friend is coming over and we're having a few drinks in the house. She'll just have to lump it. Though when I went out for a meal for my last birthday she tried to guilt trip me into cancelling it so I could give her a lift to her night out! I'm painting an awful picture aren't I! She's lovely really, just takes a lend sometimes and I'm too soft to say no, partly my own fault then.
I'm waiting for her to ring me and complain. Though I did suggest in my text, can't bro pick her up, he does have a car (and way less things to do than me)
ETA - she is very generous and sometimes I do think I owe her after everything she does for me and OH, but bro is just as capable, and I have to get a taxi when I'm drinking so why can't she!
Is it weird that I'm still running even though I've had an hours sleep in two days??
Went for a nice plod with the ned, expected him to be really nappy but he just walked along nicely and went through puddles
I reallly was shocked.
But hm, he has put me into worry mode already! The week before I went away he was really coughing each time I went into trot , no other time - just when we went into trot. So anywho I started soaking his hay again as I had stopped and it didn't make any difference. Then I got him one of those respiratory lickits - no difference :/ Anywho, thought the week just chilling might have 'shifted,' whatever it was (Stupid yes..) but today he coughed twice just in walk
Probably nothing to worry about but he seemed to have a bit of a heave line and he's lost a little bit of condition since I've gone and just gone really flat .
well got tea to cook in a min, we're having cheese and potato pie
darcy- not sure about the coughing, does he have any stuff coming out (flem, snot etc) my cob coughs alot on hay hence why his is soaked and always suffer from a runny nose, but he seemed to cope alot better on ride on quantocks than my mare
And he didnt even snort as he went through it, just marched on through. So tis obviously all a lie
Oh, and the 17.2hh is a pain :| Its a young full thoroughbred thats not been ridden for a long time I dont think, full of beans , totally in love with Darcy and threatens to jump the stable/field as someone enters or leaves. Ho hum. This could be a long 6 weeks..
I have set one child onto clearing the study, and the other onto clearing the cellar, and D onto sorting out the bathroom walls ready for plastering
. I have been to the yard, taken piccies of Dizzy for the site logo, and made a couple of plans re. Dragonatum stuff (I'm working on Slink's 'sh!t sticks' theory, so a lot of cold calling/emailing
).
Given how I've felt over the last few days (and probably much longer), I am quietly impressed with myself
It gets contagious once you start - just put together a list of jobs that need doing round the house and allocate them. Then once they have practised at your house you can send them round here to practise some more!!!
