Well she's had him 3 years , so I'm guessing since he was perhaps two / three when she bought him. No idea about his history but she has 3 children, all sharing with her mother in a 2 bedroom flat as they got evicted etc and haven't got the time/ money for the horse.
Yet, they wont sell. The poor thing is twitchy just to watch
The owner reckons she'll start riding him again soon when the kids grow up or take up less time, but they're 1,6 and 12 and the 12 year old has Autism
Didn't start too well, OH trooped off to buy ink for the printer, got that, put ink in printer, printer didn't want to play!!! Went mad, squidgy writing everything, tried to re align it, no, it wasn't having any of it!!!! So, off I trotted to Mums...
Dad sorted out his printer, started to print, decided it didn't want to work!! I had one hard copy of my presentation, and my notes!!!
Asked sister, her printer is broken ( she knows this as her OH woke her up at 11.30pm last night to tell her!!), bl***dy hell!!!
By this stage I couldn't have cared less, time was rushing on, had sent son to sort out horses, and needed to get ready.
Got ready (thank you Slinky for the good luck texts) and went to interview!! Had a couple of fags, as I was fifteen minutes early and then went in. Low and behold they were running an hour late!!!
So waited around ( thank you again for texts) and finally went in. Couldn't have cared less at this stage, so I was very chilled. Did my presentation, having a chat as I set it up. I was only interviewed by one person. so thank you God, I only needed one copy!!
Then had to chose a card and speak for a minute. I thought, oh no, now it will go horribly wrong!! Instead I got the Data Protection Act!!! Well, that's right up my street, law degree and all, so happily chatted about that.
The next bit was a priority tray. Pretty ok, and I got the red herring and the one to put first. Finally, I had the scenario questions.
Now guys, I'm the sort of person who agrees with the "nation of ar*eholes" quote, so I thought that my answers may be a little strong sometimes, but she said right answer, when I said I'd suspend someone for refusing to take jewelery off, especially if the person had signed to say she understood company policy and procedures!!
So, all in all, not too bad, but who knows!!
The worst bit of news is the saddler can't make it tomorrow so I'll have to start ringing round again
Sorry that was so long!!
Welcome back DL, pictures please, and thank you for your text Mrs M
Apologies in advance but I wish to first have a whinge and second have a whimper.
Whinge - I am the only DIYer and genberally try to be helpful as it is more RS than Livery yard so often turn all 4 liveries out and bring in and swap rugs wash feet etc because other liveries are friends etc. We dont really get winter Turnout so by my rugging and turning out everyone is happy. Rang today at lunchtime as it was issing down and asked if they wanted me to nip down and bring in and had receptionist tell me if I wanted my horse brought in I should do it myself as I am a DIYer but that wasnt the question grrrrrh!
Whimper - got horses in this PM and fed Big Lump at 3.30 so I could ride at 5pm. Just ready to tack up and went to car for something and as I walked past my friends horse I unthinkingly said 'Hello Sweetheart' and put my hand out to Pat him!!!! It was returned to me with a large chunk of my index finger on my Right Hand bitten into. I sit here and type with a huge bandage throbbing finger and a network of plastic stitched holding it together.
Its throbbing a lot I have Dogs to paint for Christmas and I use Soft pastels and blend with the index finger of my Right Hand and I wear contact lenses as I have an eye condition and use the index finger of my right hand a lot!!!
There are other things I do with my Index finger but we wont go there.
This is the smaller neater version but dont know how I am going to keep it clean in morning. A sandwich bag and masking tape sounds best bet. Rubbiah photo tho!
Hello peeps had a very busy day had the vet out to my shettie "mild lami" for a follow up visit, he is completely mended thankfully.
But vet as suggested a blood test for cushings so now have to wait for results, can i remember someone on sfa that had a cushings pony ???
Would love some reassurance that my little man will be ok vet as mentioned a 1 aday tablet that will keep symtoms (sp) at bay and seemed quite upbeat about it.
snoopy - its tikino that has a Cushing pony - she'll be along later. They give them pergolide to help control the symptoms - have a look on the Laminits Clinic website as well - they have a section about it on there as they are more prone to lami. Fingers crossed he hasn't got it though.
and even if they did they would be out of stock, and the surly assistant would chew chewing gum, be on her mobile, and tell you that "i dunno" when you asked!!!
I believe there are some very good local stores that do them
