Was doing my horse shopping list today for my feed, wormers, hay and although i,m not on a budget as such i like to look after my pennies.
I remember someone on sfa having their pony on pergolide was it tikino ? would you mind letting me know how much it is, bug is insured but that wont last forever and was wondering is it expensive would i need to put something away each week, or is it reasonable.

Oh great, I'll have another glass, I can really enjoy it this time, as I was cooking before, and couldn't concentrate!!

snoopy, it's tikino, I'm sure one of her ponies is on pergolide
grin.gif

I think she said it worked out about 1 -2p a day, not 100% on that but, she'd be able to tell you

Snoopy, you pony is tiny, like my little one, so it could be even cheaper, as you probably won't need as much
grin.gif

Forgot to say, I don't know if you've tried this but Simple Systems has a feed supplement which is specifically for cushings/laminitis prone ponies. Helps to balance them. Its called Megaslim, I think, I'll look for the link

I write a comment and the computer has a paddy and kicks me off

So I'll rewrite it.
MrsM: I like the fact that the pessoa gets the horse using his hindquarters and therefore working on a contact properly, not just fixing his head. But I don't like that they get gobbed in the mouth by it. I suppose they soon learn that working properly avoids that though.
Slinky: I was lucky, it didn't rain when I set off. There was lots of mud though, which is now up to my knees on the trousers I was wearing Lol

Not for me tonight, i have had beans and poached egg on toast, and it,s sitting in my belly like a ton of bricks. Looks like i won,t be needed at work tonight as they ring at 8pm and nothing yet.
Its raining again in shropshire so i,m glad i rugged my granny up although she was not that impressed as she thinks she,s a tough old bird. My friend went to check snoops and her own mare who is in with snoops and she took a bag of carrots she putthem on a post whilst she climbed over the gate and snoops did a smash and grab and ran of with them.
I did tell my friend she is a ex tinkers rag,n,bone dray horse but she would not listen.

My lot played "pick your own paddock" today, a real winter favourite, how they managed it I'll never know, but tonight they are all in together in a much bigger paddock....they know it gets results, and more grass and feed!!!

Hi tikino!!
smile.gif
Perfect timing - snoopy needs to ask you about cushings. How is Toby?

smile.gif

snoopy - my cob is exactly the same
blush.gif
- was rescued from travellers so knows how to look after herself!!
grin.gif
grin.gif

RG - sounds like perfect timing with the rain and all my trousers look like that!!
blush.gif
Apart from the ones that I fell over in obviously - they are totally covered in mud!!

grin.gif

Yeah I'm riding Kodi tomorrow slinks
smile.gif
Hopefully... no matter what the weather! I still have to try those boots on his dirty legs (ignore his dirt I don't want to wash his legs incase he gets mud fever) but when he comes in over night I'll start washing and attempting to dry them
smile.gif
I've got one set of fingers crossed that he'll be as good as he was if not better than the other day, my friend jumped him and he was a little angel despite her never having ridden him
grin.gif

I'll see if she can video the flat too, but excuse my jumping position I'm not brilliant hehe!

Haha Slinky, falling over isn't a good idea
tongue.gif

I've only done that once, was working at a riding school where there fields were awful, whereever you put you foot, it just sunk down to mid way up your leg, (poor horses) I turned out a horse, tried to step away, my foot wouldn't leave the mud, and I ended up sat under the horse, covered in very wet, cold mud.
LOL

Bug is on 1/3 of a tablet so only small dose at the moment and i can tell you it,s really hard to cut the tablet into 3 they are tiny.
I traced snoopy,s history she was sold at a gypsy horse fair in ireland to a dealer down the road from me who took her hunting with the grooms he then sold her for £1850 + WB he then sold the wb for £I250 so he got £3000 for her all together!! The next dealer hired her out for hunting for a season then sold her for £1850 to a lovely lady who kept her for 3 years i bought her off this lady. I only paid £600 for her as the lady just wanted a good home it,s been the best £600 i have ever spent. When i traced the first dealer he offered to buy her off me i told him she as stopped her travelling now as she is ready to settle down.
