SWEET FA......Wednesday

I got a few bags of it once when the price of shavings first started to climb, but I didn't get it at all

I've been on straw all through the summer while Darcys been out and just coming in for the odd amount. But in winter I can only get up the yard for about 4/4.30 by which time its practically dark. At least with an alternative etc I could get someone to pop him in for me, and the wee would get soaked up better. I could then just take out the wee every weekend when I've got daylight

George is only there 'cos I chucked him out!!!! He'll be back in mine soon!!!

Anyway, on a serious note, I would like to see pics too, as I'm thinking of changing to wood pellets for the winter.

I like a nice thick bed too - thats why the pellets confused me at first because I only ever saw them with matting, and quite thin - so that makes sence

And wow, he must be pretty small until you add water

It is between 2.30 - 2.50 a bag - depends on how you buy it and how much. One bag is almost as much as a bag of shavings - I put the pellets in a wheelbarrow, sprinkle with water and then leave for about 15- 20 mins and then tip into stable as needed - I don't mix new pellets in old wet bedding.

This year I will be getting a ton delivered in a huge open builders sack - we have loads of good dry storage - which is the cheapest way of getting them. Last year I got the 10kgs bags - hardly takes up any room to store and waterproof if needed.

And D_L mentioned Traditional Bed down, where do you get that from?

I have to make a comparison as I'll have six to stable in the winter!!

Stockists are a bit away from me too! Didn't see anything to order direct on the site.

LWP I think do allow you to order direct, could be reading that wrong, but I think so

I'm really tempted to put Darcy on it again over the next few weeks.

As much as I love the thick, warm, CHEAP thing that is straw - its the worst at absorbing the wet. And being that some days during the winter they have to stay in etc - you can imagine what the floors like

If I make the change, Ill take some photos

Ok - I'm back had to finish my expenses off!! and I have just made my supper....

Ok the wood pellets - you can get them from LWP, Corley Biowood (f_s - they are in Coventry) to name but two suppliers - you can order direct and they will deliver anywhere in the UK - S_V there is a supplier in Scotland as I was talking to chestnuttymare about them and she now gets them from somewhere in Scotalnd - maybe PM her?

I'll pass on the cornetto thanks S_V, as I've just had a pudding!!! Or is that, I look like a pudding...think that's a closer description actually!!!

I like the idea of the bed down, but also the wood pellets. I can get straw pretty cheap, but it's so messy and the muck heap grows especially with all of them!!! My mare is filthy, that's the only word for her!!! I have had her on shavings and it was a disaster, so thought the mixture might be better!!

Was it most of you that were into recruitment etc?

I'm STILL struggling with just writing even the template for my CV to a standard. Where should I even begin?! My current one has my name, address , qualifications, and just a "general" profile .

Sigh!!!
