I am looking for a snaffle style bit, pref loose ring, which is made from sweet iron, and rather than a french link or lozenge, has a couple of links or joins in it. Any suggestions?

I started out with a thick hollow loose ring snaffle, moved to the same, only with a french link, realised that they were too thick as he has quite a small mouth, tried a sweet iron snaffle which was quite thin, which he seemed to like the sweet iron, but didn't like the single joint. He really like to play with links and joints and having them seems to stop him trying to get his tongue over the bit.

I had a tom thum, which is coppery with three loose rings in the centre, across the joint and using only the snaffle ring, he seemed happy in this, but I would like something similar that is dressage legal....

Does any ofthis make sense? Thank you

For a dressage legal bit, the only mouth pieces that are legal are single joint snaffles, french link/lozege snaffles and some of the myler ones. You can't get a dressage legal bit with more joints that two. Why not have a french link loose ring? You can get ones with different widths of mouthpieces and with metals that are more appealing.

This looks a nice french link loose ring sweet iron but might be a little chunky?

Neue Shule bits are lovely, a nice metal, available with different width mouth pieces, and all of these (other than the waterford) are dressage legal.

bit of a slimmer one

not sweet iron, but is an appealing metal, only 14mm mouthpiece and nicely made so as to be lovely and smooth

Thank you both, never thought of the cupro nickle... will see if can borrow one to try. I also like the "thinness" of the sweet iron with copper lozenge...
I'll have to try and find them in RL I think rather than try to buy on line.
