Sweet itch -Avon Skin so soft

Hi,

There is a pony in a local riding school that seems to be cursed with sweet itch, I have heard the Avon skin so soft is great for this and i have the body lotion and the dry oil spray, does anybody know which would be better for him or what way I need to dilute the dry oil spray.

I heared that the dry oil spray diluted 1 part spray to 3-4 parts water is recommended. Unfortunately didnt work for my boy but my friend swears by it.
 
Thanks very much magichorse, I will try that tomorrow, i have to do something to help him.

I have also heard about diluted TCP, if the Avon skin so soft doesn't work i'll try that.

Remember though you want the GREEN bottle (woodland fresh or whatever it is) NOT the pink bottle!
The bath oil is good as you can buy bulk off ebay (4 bottles for a tenner) and then dilute it down in a decent spray bottle.

damn, i thought this would keep the buggers off and give him a chance to heal up.

double damn, i only have the pink bottle.

I guess i'm buying a bottle of TCP tomorrow then :)
 
My neighbour who had a Shetland with sweet itch tried everything and in the end the only thing that worked was feeding the poor boy with marmite. Sorry it is anecdotal but maybe worth a try.
