Sweet itch hood/neck?

I bought my horse a sweetitch hood from Snuggy hoods, when should i start putting it on him? His stable is right by the muck heap too so get quite a few midgies, although i havent seen any yet.

Once SI starts it's a pain, if you can stop the biting before it starts, you are giving your horse a better chance of being comfortable.

Well that was my theory, he hasnt lost any hair since ive had him, i put benzyl benzoate on him every other day. He only has it mild but don't want him to be uncomfortable so wanted to put it on him before the midgies attack!! x

As soon as the snow goes, normally you'd need them in by now by there's not any midges about yet

As soon as this freezing weather finishes ours are going from winter rugs to SI ones.
