Sweet itch question

Horse itches all year round - could it still be sweet itch? i thought it was march-oct ?

If its sweet itch they'll itch when the midges are out. They've been quite early this year regardless of the months.

we've barely had a break from midges this year - so yes, it could def be sweet itch.

I think midges are about whenever the temp is 12 degrees or over, winter has been fairly warm. We've had midges for most of the year.

I asked my vet the same question and as others have said because its been mild, they've barely had a break this year!
Mine was only Boett free in dec, jan, feb.

It could be diet-related? One of mine gets really itchy on alfalfa.
