Having just taken on a mini with sweet itch I bought him a DeMeulenkamp rug in the smallest size they do but he's had it on for roughly 2 weeks now & it's really too big for him. Having spoken to both DeM & Boett the Boett is slightly bigger again so that's out of the equation.

Unfortunately because it's too big it pulls backwards & the neck falls down exposing the first third of his neck. I know adding a hood would help this but I can't put a hood on him yet as his face is so sore he would rip it to pieces.

I've noticed also today that because it's pulling back the elastic belly strap at the back is very close to his willy bits & is rubbing him there :o

Someone on here kindly recommended Dinky Rugs for a turnout for him & I see they do a sweet itch rug too. My concern is that it's quite cheap & because I paid rather a lot for the DeM I wonder how the quality will compare in terms of toughness & protection.

I just need a decent sweet itch rug & hoody for mini if anyone can suggest one please.

Thank you

Snuggy Hoods will make stuff small to order

My pony has the Snuggy Hoods 'head' with fringe and a big full hood with ears and body suit

Their standard size is XS onwards but my pony's stuff is XXS and the rug is just 4ft - I am sure if you sent them some measurements they could help

My pony came with the Bug Rug from Rambo and I bought him the Masta sweet itch suit which is pretty good but the Snuggy is the best, I wish I had just bit the bullet and got one straight away, yes they are expensive but the suit fits him perfectly

Thank you WelshD, I've seen the Masta one but I didn't think they made it in small sizes - I thought it looked quite good.

I paid nearly £150 for my DeMeulenkamp which I'm going to have to abandon so the snuggy ones don't seem too expensive by comparison.

Love your pic :D

Sorry see you've already found them. I know the grazing muzzles are fab. Perhaps start a thread specifically about them?
